Hello all!

Just bought this Mille with full history and started a massive upgrade project on it. But today when changing the oil I saw something really concerning: some golden flakes in the fresh, 1000 km Motul 5100. Here is the video of the oil, what do you think?
https://youtube.com/shorts/TyfmkuE_XqI?feature=share4

All service was documented and carrie itd at a German Aprilia dealership since the first service im 2001. It had two owners only and had everything done on time. It had a stock configuration until last week when I started upgrading. It even had all the stock restrictions on it (map, filter, exhaust). It amazes me to have such a serious issue such as engine failure...

And then again I am thinking: should I bother to open it up and service the engine bearings (plus maybe a lot of other things that might come up)? Or just wait for it to go boom and find another engine allto itgether? This is kind of sad because I searched for a good Mille for 3 years and now that I thought I found one, I pretty much invested every upgrade I could find in a matter of one month: complete electric rehaul, clutch master and slave, all fluids changed, suspension serviced in an Ohlins dealership...
The bike was 100% stock when I bought it

Hard to tell from the video but If the engine sounds fine it might just be dirty old oil. By the time the shell bearings get down to the copper they won’t last long so you will know fairly soon. I would ride it some more and maybe do another early oil change and check again. A good used engine is always going to be cheaper than a strip unless you’re doing it yourself.

The oil looks very thin as well, I’d put fresh oil and run it a bit longer and then drop it again and re check, normally a gold colour would suggest big end problems but if it’s not causing issues at the moment run it and see.

The thing is, that oil you see there has under 1000 kms. It's the oil I put in the bike when I got it. Motul 5100. Also, 100kms ago it started to show bubbles in the sight glass(which determined me to change it and investigate further).

The only changes I made were adding an exhaust, de-restricting the airbox and the map 2. Also, replaced the master and slave clutch cyls with top quality ones.

If you are at all worried, I'd get an oil analysis done, eg: https://www.millersoils.co.uk/oil-analysis/

Thirty-odd quid is a bargain for peace of mind.
