I'm looking at an Rsv4 or the Tuono..

Has anyone had both...swapped one for the other?

Would the grunt of the Rsv4 be missed against the tuned down Tuono?

Any advice/thoughts appreciated....

If you haven't already had a go on Tuono 1100 V4 when you do you'll find that there is definitely no lack of grunt Tongue haven't tried a RSV4 but for me (looks aside) the Tuono is the better bike for the road.

I’ve a v4 1100 Tuono purchased new in 2020

Absolute mental bike. You would not miss the additional top end power of the RSV4 on the roads imo.

Is there much difference between the 16 to the 20?

Off the top of my head

Dash is all digital , suspension is electric and adjustable even whilst riding on n the move, different front brake calipers. Electronic upgrades or rather tweaks to what’s already there.

The 2020 factory had carbon fibre bits rather than carbon look plastic on the factory.
Rule of thumb with V4 engines was get as late as possible and the better ones are from 2016 onwards, as for the Tuono at least the issues were irradiated it seems. Valve recession was still a thing on the rsv4 as it had a higher Rev ceiling and titanium valves. The Tuono has stainless and seems trouble free by comparison.

The Tuono is still an absolute beast and it’s way over the top and for me at least an RSV4 is uneccssary but it does look awesome.
Try both and see what you like. I wanted to be upright and see more in comfort.

Thanks for all the info!

I'm pushed towards the Tuono as they are less money, more reliable but the RSV4 looks amazing...not to say that the Tuono doesn't because its stunning too! I know alot don't like the colourful green/red wheels and the shellsuit graphics but I'm quite a fan!

Cheers Wig/all!

I have a '22 Tuono Factory and '23 RSV4 Factory.
Both are the current E5 models.
The RSV4 is now a 1099 cc engine (E5 Tuono is still 1077cc). The mid range difference is now minimal but in standard form the Tuono has lower gearing (RSV4 feels like starting in 2nd gear). Both bikes are too much for the road if you value your licence. The way the RSV4 just acquires speed is alarming - it will exceed the national speed limit in first and the top 2 gears are almost redundant in normal riding.
The Tuono is probably a better road bike but better doesn't always equal best and if we all took the sensible option then Honda CB500's & Toyota Corolla's would be dream vehicles.
