I`ve never been able to figure out how to edit my posts either.
When I click on post options the only options are;

Deleting a whole post or topic I think is a moderator option only.

When I click on Post Options the drop down list only has;

Many features are based on post count. the more posts you have the more features you get. Edit comes in at moto 2 level.
That doesn't go for all sections of the forum only the general posting areas. For sale etc is managed by Grupenfuhrer Redratbike so u have to ask him nicely if you want something deleted there.
Why you may ask, simply because it stopped spammers from posting spam etc and deleting or editing it out etc before admins could see it and log their ip (for blocking purposes). Most of the spammers are in different time zones and their posts could sit for 7 or 8 hours before we wake to find a spam report but they deleted it before we got there.
