For the old & f**ked among us, like me who can't ride a sports bike for more than an hour or so any more without suffering here's how I did my high bar conversion. Thought about buying a Tuono but my RSVR is mint & better the devil you know. Firstly they do conversion kits for these but I have heard nothing but bad things about them & know from experience when my mate bought one for his R6 that they do not fit very well & some of the parts supplied are only fit for the bin. Firstly I got a top yoke for Ohlins forks from ebay & sent it to NK racing who supplied & machined a set of fat bar risers to fit on the angle of the yoke then welded them on & grit blasted all for £80.00 http://www.nkracing.co.uk/n2.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.nkracing.co.uk/n2.html Next I bought a top fairing from ebay & fitted this with the top yoke to see how much had to be cut off to clear the handlebars. http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/Picture086.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> The fairing was cut back almost to the mirror mounts but I still couldn't quite get full lock so my solution was to get an old footrest hanger & cut the fixing lugs off & make them oval to reduce the lock slightly. http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR002.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Now the top fairing & screen were cut back they were sprayed black & lacqured. http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR001.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Next job was to replace the brake & clutch lines, just a matter of measuring how much they were short & buying them from Venhill. http://www.venhill.co.uk/Hoses_-_Components_&_Lines/POWERHOSE_PLUS" rel="nofollow - http://www.venhill.co.uk/Hoses_-_Components_&_Lines/POWERHOSE_PLUS http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR003.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> The wiring & throttle cables were long enough to re-route without replacement. http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR010.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR011.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> I used Tuono reservoir brackets http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR007.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> The new decals were from Image Works & a perfect match but not easy to fit which is why I put them on top of the lacquer, just in case http://www.bike-stickers.com/homepage.htm" rel="nofollow - http://www.bike-stickers.com/homepage.htm http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR013.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> The final thing after riding around for a while was to replace the mirrors for RS125 ones which actually stick out about 2" further than the original ones. This is how much it cost & no original parts were harmed in making this conversion Renthal fatbars £50.00 Top yoke £45.00 Fatbar risers welded onto the top yoke by NK racing £80.00 Clutch & brake lines from Venhill £97.00 Top fairing £65.00 Screen £30.00 RSVR fairing decal set from Image Works £45.00 Renthal bar end weights £18.00 Paint & laquer £14.00 Plus £18.00 for the reservoir brackets & £30.00 for the mirrors. http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR022.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> http://s633.photobucket.com/user/nikfubar/media/RSVR/RSVR019.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> I also dropped the forks through the yokes by one ring & increased the settings on the rear shock to compensate for the shift in weight by sitting up. the different riding position took a bit of getting used to but I love it now & it's so comfy I can ride all day
