Greetings again .. I have noticed my brake light is permanently on at the moment. It's the front brake that is causing it, and if I jiggle the lever, or slightly grab it (I'm talking a feather weight of pressure on the lever), sometimes you can hear the CLICK of the switch, and the brake light goes off.

Does anyone know where the switch is located? Is it a drain the system / replace type situation, or is the switch external and accessible and likely to be gummed up or something?

Many thanks (again!) in advance for any info or suggestions.

Not saying I'm right on this, but brake switches always fail safe, ie on, so in a logic sense, you actually turn the switch off to make it work.
In your case it sounds like yours isn't reaching its resting point correctly.
Maybe a good dose of WD40 around the lever to clear out an crud that's holding it back?
Worth a shot I think?

It's by the lever, probably needs a clean. Thin black wire to it.

Yep .. thanks guys! You're right Johnboy, it is depressed (edit .. compressed? urghh .. it's pressed! hehe) when the lever is out, so the light goes off. Mine is not switching off (99% of the time) so must be gummed up or the contacts are dirty.

I took a closer look and found the switch. I think it's on the blink .. as you can jiggle it and it clicks off and on randomly. I took the little plastic cover off the pin, and sprayed it with WD40, it's slightly better but not perfect. I think I'll replace, my mechanic has the part for £19 :)

Thanks again!
