Just a quick message to introduce myself before I start to ask the obvious questions. I had a Falco around three years ago and foolishly sold it for a Mille which wasn't what I was looking for. Just bought another Falco which is absolutely standard.
Can anyone trigger my memory vaults and recommend the upgrades worth doing. I'm looking for my Falco to be: 1. relatively fast (which it is as standard) bike 2. able to do longer distances maybe two up at times 3. better sounding than standard without being too loud There is obviously a massive list of improvements that can be made but I'm quite happy with the standard bike and won't be 'blinging' it up or using it for trackdays. I can't tell the difference on my bikes by shaving small amount of weights off or changing the tyres to get an extra 1 degree of lean at the expense of 2000 miles of travel. Hope this is self explanatory. Thanks in advance.

Ive got both a Mille & a Falco & know where you are coming from,
1st change rear shock for early shape Mille one pre 2000,just completely outclasses the crap original
2nd Ive got a real chaep set of Motad Venoms on mine, they are £105 for the pair,& to be honest they are noisy enough with the baffels in
3rd Dr Rossi chip & TB setup ,realy awsome bit of kit, smooths the power out very nicely
4rd Ride it,Istill think its one of the most underated bikes on the road & Ive got a Mille R o3 with the ohlins & radial brakes, but still take the Falco out for general riding

Can i replace the standard Falco shock directly with a RSV Mille shock? What are the carbon oval Aprilia racing cans like and would I have to upgrade the ECM/airbox?
Thanks again

The AF1Racing Falco Forum has a huge sticky about what shocks fit the Falco and which dog-bones you need to go with the different shocks.

first change is the sidestand - do that before anything else
bubseywoo/correct fireblade stands fit straight in. American sidestands need a little angle grinder action. there are some other ones that will also work with some fettling - www.ridersite.com has a good set of options and instructions http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162440 is the thread that Nooj referred to :) lots of exhaust choices - fuel cans are also cheap.... i rated my blue flames :) also consider the air box - evo or renegade is the top performance option..... gabro or dr rossi chip - if you go for a gabro chip then do all the other work first - they are made to fit your bike!
