Has anybody had problems with there 04 RSV idle speed setting itself at 3000 revs or higher? Do you also have a Datatool system 3 fitted? Would appear that a possible wiring fault could be the cause of the aove problem due to the immobliser from the alarm being attached to the fuel pump. This can apparently cause the bike to reset the idle speed if it's started before the bike has fully checked itself or the keyes are in the ignition and the alarm rearms itself. The fix apparently is to change the wire to the fuel pump and put it on the kill switch instead. I can't say for definate that this is the fix, but I've been informed both DATATOOL and Aprilia are aware of the conflict!! Dpt

i've had this problem what i find that if you let the choke finish its business and let the idle speed return to normal then its fine it happens to me when you turn the ignition off before the choke has finished cheers paul

Not the same problem mate. I rode mine for twenty miles and it still didn't come down on the revs ar idle. Since the alrm was rewired by a datatool fitter not had a problem since. Dpt

have an 05 RSVR which I bought in August this year. It has a datatool cat 1fitted. After a couple of rides, i noticed when I sterted the bike it was revving to abount 3K but not settling down when the engine was warm. I informed the dealer and as the fault was intermittent he assured me it was the ecu setting itself and all was ok. Sadly I dropped the bike and to cut a long story short have just got it back after 4 months!! Everything on the bike that required sorting has been sorted except this!!!!!!! Has anyone sucessfully sorted this problem?
