OK, you may or may not know I'm in the motor trade / insurance business and as such I have contacts that have assured me they can get me mega discount on our beloved sprag clutch.

I supplied them the part number ENA57177 as per this link Click Me we all know this part fits our beloved RSV's and as you can see this part retails at £58.81 inc VAT plus delivery. EEK!

Well my contact came back and advised me that this part is all well and good but there is a better one, allegedly higher quality and is far cheaper. He has advised me that he can supply me the part for £36.83 plus VAT. (Genuine BMW part direct from the manufacturer)

As you all know I am not here to make a profit or rip anyone off and that's why if anyone wants one of these sprags then send me a PM and I'll obtain the part for you. (I'm going to buy one and keep it in stock so to speak)

I will be asking for payment up front before I post out the part and you will have to cover postage costs.

HTH Bigthumb

Just spoke with my mate who's getting them and it appears that they may have charged me the £36 inc VAT.  LOL

Let's wait and see the actual invoice before I start doing back flips.

Do they need any mods Alan for the Rsv ?

I seem to remember you having to reverse rollers in the sprag or something.

What a bargain either way

You can just put them in backwards or rebuild them, personally i'd just put them in backards. I put mine in backwards and its now done 9000 miles like that.

Yeah, just slap them in back to front, job done.

I'm not too sure how good this supplier is (long term) so I may get a few more on order once the first one is proven to be OK.  Either way my supplier has said if it doesn't work he'll refund me in full.

Was supposed to collect it Friday Vinnie but the snow put pay to that, do you want to be the first to try this modified/upgraded sprag direct from BMW then?

Cheers

Alan

No problem, perhaps we can get Griff to use it on his next sprag adventure.  Thumbs Up

OK I have the sprag in my grubbly little mitts and it cost a grand total of £36.53 including the dreaded.

If you know anyone who needs one for immediate use then get them to PM me and I'll post it out once paid for.  I imagine P+P to be around £3.00 or so so these have to be the cheapest sprags around.

The guy at BMW said supply is not an issue as long as I don't start ordering 30 at a time.  Thumbs Up

well done mate, top job.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting '...holy sh*t ...what a ride!
