Evening all Not posted on here for a long time, used to be a regular way back when............. Previously owned a 2002 RSV, 2000 RSV-R, Caponord Rally Raid, and broke many an RSV when they were selling for peanuts to fund my racing on an SXV 550. Built this from spare parts I had lying around back in 2013, sold it on a bit of a whim and wished I hadn't. Realised today that I probably had enough bits lying around to build another one, albeit this time with an axial front end, so that's the plan whilst 'working from home' over the next few months! I'll no doubt realised that I'm missing some bits .............I already know that I'll need an exhaust for it and a 2001/2003 dog bone and linkage, not to mention the 2001 / 2003 rider's seat! Anyone got those parts going spare? Will post some pics during the build ;-) Stay safe Jon |

Hi Jon ,
well you’ll probably have time on your hands as there won’t be any racing for a while will there
Sure someone will turn up with the bits you want |

You're not wrong Mark.................17 Caterhams and 3 Ginettas in our workshop sat doing nothing until at least the end of June. Thought this would be the perfect opportunity to build another Tuono given that I've got pretty much all the bits lying around and I've been promising myself that I'd put them together for a number of years! Stay safe Jon

There is always something cooler about making something up out of all the bits you have laying around
PaulW must of done that a few times if not you must have plenty of pieces to help out Paul?

Great idea buddy got me thinking too, I've got a fair bit duplicated in the cave and could do similar but I don't have the skills
Would love to put a big 2 stroke lump in the spare rsv frame and swingarm I've got but it's a bit of a dream.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

Thanks for the link. Looks like the bits I'll need are already fubared on that one, bar the rear linkage but I might still have one of those in a box of bits that are still at my workshop ;-) |

Okay, build is progressing slowly but I think I now have everything
I need to complete it, just going to take a bit of time to clean all
the parts and put them together. Here it is so far: Can't decide what bodywork to use and what colour to paint it. Originally, the plan was to build it exactly like the last one using '03 rear end, matt black and white wheels as per the original pic: However, I have the 2000 rear bodywork to build it like this: That's how I'd originally built the bike before swapping to the black bodywork and white wheels. The frame I'm using is a 2000 RSV-R frame so will have an X registration so I kind of like the idea of building something with the older style rear end, tank and side panels but in matt black with white wheels. so, do I go black 03 style with white wheels, Red 00 style with black wheels or Black 00 style with white wheels? Thoughts? Jon |
