![]() I have just got hold of a 2002 RSVR & it is my first twin.
The bike will be used mainly for trackdays, but it is road legal with daytime MOT.
I have only managed a few brief trips out because of the lovely weather we are having at the mo, but I am looking forward to giving it a real test soon.
The bike has chip upgrade & race filter, high level Leo Vince can & metzler racetek tyres.
Any info that can be offered on tyre pressures, suspension settings etc would be greatly appreciated.
The rear ohlins has a remote preload adjuster which seems not to be working.
Am I doing something stupid here, is there a lock pin etc that has to be removed before it will adjust??
Cheers all, Stevo

IMO Mallory is great fun. It's hard work as there is no long straight for a rest, and it's very abbrasive and wears out the right hand side of the tyre after a couple of visits. But the feeling of overtaking around the outside at Gerrards is just awesome.....

Dont go on new tyres cos they'll be shot after a day there! Gerrards is soooo long the hard acceleration lent over for a long while eats the rear, also that time of the year watch for the damp patches through the esses even if it looks ok be cautious till you done a few laps.

mallory is a good track, like peeps have said its not very long and not much to remember! gerrards is an awesome corner (provides a big buzz when sliding on ya arse at 140mph!) i rode it with the BSB charlies in and it ruined gerrards completly IMO! many peeps on here plannin to ride it this year? i was there last sunday (31st Jan) and there was a blue rsvr there that looked pretty nice!

Hi everyone. I am looking to do my first track day in July. I am thinking of going round cadwell park. I have a 2002 RSVR. Can anyone give me any advice on setting up the bike? I am not wanting to do loads of work to get it ready as i use the bike on the road. But I do want to try and make the bike as "safe" as possible. I have no itentions of going mad when i am on the track as I am no Max Biaggi. I am Arranging my brothers stag do and i know this is something he has wanted to do for a long time. I am a complete novice so any advice on the track and set up would be great.

ive just started doing track days and have been informed by many people that tyre pressures should be 31 psi front and 29 psi rear when the tyre is cold....
my first track day i did on road pressures..36 front & 40 rear..which worked but i wrecked a brand new bsb super corsa in 1 day..i think that the tyre was too hard... have since been out on advised lower pressures and found tyre wear to be alot better...i was doing at least 3 steady laps to get tyres warm before i started gunning it.. this is just a guideline so please dont take it as being gospel but its working for me..depends on what tyres youre using aswell.. |

Also there's no power to plug into at Caddie so you'll need a genny, if you got any sort of electic stuff you want to use, as said lower yer tyre pressures, and let them warm up for a couple of laps befor getting faster, you've got all day take yer time, try to follow an instructor round a few times if you can to watch there lines
