I'm curious to know what other bikes people on this forum have, is everyone just an Aprilia junky, or are you passionate about other bikes as well? what other bikes have you owned over the years?
Despite having a Tuono factory, I also have a passion for Harley Davidsons (go on laugh you philistines), BMW boxer twins, Moto Guzzis, Ducatis and if I had dosh to spare I would love a Hesketh. I also have an interest in old British bikes as well.
My current rides are a BMW GS1150, Tuono, and Yamaha XT225 Serow.
Since 1974 I've had a Yamaha FS1E, Suzuki GT250, Norton 750 Commando (my most unrelible bike, I'd have another but a MKIII 850 next time) Yamaha RD400[:D] (an absolute hoot to ride), 3 Honda CB750's, Honda C70, Honda CD175, Honda CB500T, Honda CX500, several BMW aircooled twins, and K series, BSA C11g 250, BSA 175 Bantam, and my all time favourite a Harley FXDX Superglide Sport[:p] which I had for several years and regret selling. In fact it's a shame to have sold any of them on they were all good in their own way-oh to be rich!

This thread should run!
I started on a Raleigh Wisp that I think cost me £25 when I was 16. Then a shiny blue Suzuki AP50 which I was so proud of. Started looking at myself going by in shop windows. Followed by an early CB 250 which was nothing but trouble. Next had a Suzuki GT 380 two stroke triple. Great bike, reliable, fast and cool, with a wonderful exhaust note. But it burst into flames due to a fault on the loom, and when it was fixed at the end of the summer I wrote it off in my biggest spill, along with girlfriends pelvis. Next 15 years spent on two fantastic Suzuki GS750’s went to south of France and regularly commuted up and down from South Devon to Rosyth with a suitcase bungied onto the back seat. I had a few years with no bike and then got a 30 year old refurbished Yamaha DT250 trail bike, which I taught my 15 year old son to ride on. Middle of this summer I got my Mille and I now feel my ass is firmly back in the saddle. And still looking at myself in shop windows.

Y reg Honda H100 £795 brand new!! Followed by Honda CB125TDC wet dream (destroyed against a Nova coming out of side turn without looking)moved up upon test pass to a Kwaka GPz550A1 on which I did more miles than anything.Had to rebuild engine twice, couriered on it, then had it sprayed Rizla http://www.ratemybike.net/site/index.php?user=grumpyduck
Not long after I sold it and bought a GPz750Turbo and...lost my licence 2years and £2000 fine ..thats what 134mph used to get you!
Bought a GPZ600 upon getting licence back and a TZR250 for the wife which I ride more than her.Commuting is done on my Yamaha Aerox100 Scooter and I just rebuilt a VFR400 NC24.
The current love of my life however is my '04 RSV pics of which are on my site here http://www.grumpyduck.co.uk/Trackday%20Pics.htm

Lambretta 150 (motocross in Norfolk fields)
Suzuki T250 Hustler (pre ram air, post castrol 2 stroke intravenous)
Triumph Tiger 100 (hammer and scewdriver technology)

Suzuki GSXR600 SRAD (blue & white, blue & white, @ brands hatch SBK 2001 - which one is my bike?)
Triumph T595 (almost bought a VFR, woke up, more character, but keep the mechanics number handy...)

Hiya guys, i jumped on a bit later but i have had the following:-
aprilia af125, k reg, what a bike for a 125, upside down forks, single sided swingin arm, top stoppin gear and it would do 90 odd flat out
cbr400rr nc23, another great bike, for a 400 what a goer and it would rev to about 14,000, felt you where goin a million miles an hour
zxr 750 h1, the orginal, loved it, mint green blue white.
bandit 1200, excellent as well, especially when i messed about with it, it had sooooo much low down grunt, it was hard to keep the front wheel on terra firma in 1,2,3.
fireblade rrs, bout is as a project really, great motor, bit tatty, was gona do a proper streetfighter, but i have had the sportsbike bug for a while.
I have to say out of all the bike i have had, the zxr was my fav, loved the way it looked and rode really, although i can understand why people don't like them, u sit on them not in them, but for grin factor it has to be the bandit, not a great chassis, but the motor is ace.
Saying all that i am really looking forward to gettin out on the rsv and doing some miles, i can't wait!
Les!

I've just been reading through all of the other peoples lists and thought I'd add mine. Although i've been riding (legally) on the road since 1983 I haven't really had that many bikes.
1981 Honda SS50 - Learnt to ride on farm tracks
1983 Honda SS50 (2nd one) first one got wrecked
1983 Suzuki AP50 - The SS50 had to go as the engine went pop when I tried to run it on Methanol. The AP got crushed when I was hit by a car, my proper first bike crash - 1 Broken leg, skin graft and a bone graft.
1984 Yamaha RD125DX
1985 Suzuki GP100
1986 Kawasaki KE175
1986 Kawasaki GPz305
1987 Kawaski z650F2 - My 2nd major bike crash got hit by a 17yo in his dads MKV Cortina, completely stoved the front of the cortina in but the big z was still rideable
1988 Honda CB500T - Was very cheap
1989 Suzuki SP400T - Was even cheaper
1991 Suzuki DR400S
1995 Honda XL600LM - Converted to Supermoto (Way back before it was trendy)
1996 Kawasaki KLR650
1997 Kawasaki ZXR750H1
1998 Suzuki GSF1200 Bandit
2001 Aprilia RSV Mille - I got this on a mega deal as a 2000 model purchased Xmas eve 2000 off the RSVR.net website -£5495 brand new with the Aprilia Evo race can and chip thrown in. I love this bike and still own it. At this moment its going through a major revamp as I've now bought every possible part in Carbon Fibre or Titanium. Also have fitted Ohlins front & rear with Silver Oz wheels.
2002 Yamaha Xtz660 - Bought as a winter hack
2003 Yamaha WR250 - 2 stroke
2004 Suzuki Drz400s - now converted to Supermoto
Actually now I've listed them I've had more bikes than I thought, mostly single cylinder trailies.
The Mille was my first full blown supersports bike and I really cannot imagine selling it. Especially as I was only offered £2700 as a trade-in this summer against an RSVR, that really spurred me into buying as many trick titanium & carbon fibre bits off Ebay and RSVR.net as possible and turning it into a really special Carbon R.
Just realised this is my first post since the forum changed.
Merry Christmas & Happy new year to you all
Chris

According to Valentino Rossi's autobiography his garage comprises (in order of importance presumably !!) ...
1. Aprilia RSV Mille
2. Honda CBR600
3. Honda CBR900 Firevblade
4. Honda VTR SP1
5. Yamaha R1
6. Yamaha XJR1300
+ some super motard things!
It would be nice to think that the great champion favours the RSV above all else but looking down the list of bikes it kind of fits in with whatever team he was racing
for over the years - and no doubt they were all freebies - still... no one can dispute that Rossi is a fellow Mille owner !

It's nice to see the RSV Mille at the top of Rossi's list and the SP1 at number 4, if it does mean anything.
You haven't listed your bikes on here yet Paul (apart from the FSIE), what other bikes have you owned?.
Oh and a Happy New Year to Everyone

My 850 MKIIA Roadster complete with Danish girlfriend - it's the only pic I have (it was along time ago !!)
I was always told that the MKIII was'nt as good as the MKIIA - for a start (pardon the pun) the electric starter never worked and back in those days we were dealing with Lucas 'The Prince of Darkness' - the MKIIA was always the one to have at the time which is why I bought one - the 750's can be less reliable especially the high comp Combat and Fastback models so I would at least stick with an 850 - My bike was uncharecteristically (for british bike at the time) 100% reliable and oil leak free despite a daily thrashing ! The Bonnies were never as reliable as the Norton and if I were you I'd probably go for a T120 as opposed to a T140.

Nice looking bike and bird! I had a 750 Commando with the high comp combat engine back in 1976, it was a sod to start, leaked oil everywhere and shook itself to bits, I only kept it for a few months and went to an RD400 Yam. There is an upgraded starer motor available now, plus I prefer the left foot gearchange of both the 850mk111 and the T140, although I do believe the T120 bonny is a nicer bike, but very expensive to buy. Heck I'm getting all nostalgic.[:(]

in 1985 i was only 11years old and just
dreamed of being big enough one day to ride
the gs1000 that was parked down the road.
and it took me another 17 years to get round to it.
then my first bike was FZR 600 genesis and thats it.
i was going to get a gxr 600 next but my missus said
i looked better on the mille so i couldnt really argue.

Hey Grinch, Long time ago Buddy, But would have to be the Bonnie, The Tigers were easier to tune being single carb, But the Bonnie went quite a bit faster. They were both oil in frame same shocks etc so the twin carbs did make a big difference, They both handled pretty much the same, Both had slimline tanks. They were great bikes, Not compared to today, But thats all we had back then, And no one wanted a Jappa!!![:D]
