How easy is it to get the bottoms off the Showa forks?
Seems like once the bottom bolt that holds the internals is removed, it's just the small grub screw to take out...just need to know if I'm likely to find the stanchions corroded in and any surprises laying in wait? Looking to get them powder coated, original coating is well chipped.

The alloy caliper carrier/wheel clamp casting is screwed onto the chrome stanchion, the grub screw stops it unscrewing. It will be VERY TIGHT

Is it Loctited in? Guess some one out there has removed the bottoms, what's the easiest way...remove innards and put back in the forks and try to undo, don't want to damage the stanchions in a vice?
