That's how I would fit the seals and my d/ bone is the same , but I'm sure on the swingarm said they go other way around but I guess I read it wrong , will see when I take mine apart. Better get a good night's sleep I think . Cheers

People are right in that is the correct way to fit a seal

HOWEVER given the problems in that area and knowing how the bearings rust in spite of the seals I have sympathy for the school of thought that says reverse them to keep water out.

Especially as most people will be using the teflon washers to take up side clearance, any grease escaping will seal and lubricate the washer.

I'm planning on fitting reverse direction, also fitting grease nipples so any escaping grease will be obvious and beneficial.

Be interesting to see if you can squeeze a grease nipple in there, has it been done before ?

I gather you drilled vertically into the s/arm boss then?

I can see that wouldn't give much room for access now I look but plenty of room going horizontal ?

LOL

I don't need much persuading,as the feelings start gradually coming back in my chest all my bones are aching now from my shoulders down through the rib cage,I can laugh without pain but a sneeze is like being hit by a bus.

Before I was desperate to get back out to play in the garage and it was my Mrs holding me back, now it's me not wanting to risk anything before I'm fully healed.

Next question,  does the grease nipple mod work, does the grease penetrate completely through? Has anyone stripped down after time to check ?

As long as your bearings have a gap between them for the nipples to sit in the grease will travel, my zx9r has them fitted and they work great on that.

I use one on my gixxer, they are useful if running a quick shifter, helps to make things more positive.

It will still help without a qs, takes any flex or movement out and gives a more positive shift which helps more on a qs bike as you really don’t want to be missing gears.

Thank you hemi, just noticed them today as I was bored and just surfing lol. They're cheap enough so might just invest in one. I blame lockdown on me parting with cash I not got lol. Now Wales is open I might venture out on my local roads. Trouble is the roads manic now with people coming to their caravans and holiday homes. So I might go out early or late evening to avoid ths rush 😂😂. Not ridden since march and only been in car 6 miles down road and back to try to charge battery every other day. Hope you're all ok buddy
