1992 gsxr 1100n,last of the oilers, roger uperton 1216, rebuilt bottom end with balanced crank and rods, ported and flowed head with uperton cams, new mikuni flat slides with bells and filters, not run in yet, new Ohlins shock, rebuilt forks, new bearings throughout with new chain, sprockets and tyres, needs a nice exhaust system and a tiny bit of bodywork doing but very happy.

Ooh I like that ....

One of the bikes i always check out on eBay to see what's about, that looks a peach Hemi... a very nice selection of trick bits. 👌🖒

The builder was the guy in pb a few months ago with the very trick sp2, uperton reckons it's good for 150 bhp plus at the wheel with original carbs and headers so I can't wait to get a system and flat slides on. Need to look at the brakes as well as I've spoilt myself with the brakes on my other bikes.

Those flatslides must be worth a few bob on their own, i looked at a set of Keihin's for the zx9r and they were about £1500 .

Where did you find it Hemi, the PB forum ?

Yep on pb, jay 111 said he wanted to finish his 7/11 endurance but needed to sell his 11 1st so I messaged him for details and got it😃, he's got some other nice bits for it as well but I want to put my own touches to it.

It will be a proper bit of kit once you've done your bits, I really like them anyway but with 150 at the wheel that be an animal ...
A set of BST's would go nicely on it though

Yeah seem to be, only bought by chance, the guy mentioned in a post that he was looking to sell it so knowing what he's like through his build threads I messaged him, for it's age it's incredibly tidy and with the mods using man maths I couldn't say no 😏

Had mr braking here today aka wal from pfm, he was in the country in stoke on Trent and said he would call in to take a look at the gixxer, you couldn't meet a nicer and more helpful bloke who loves his job. He brought some caliper adapters to try so I can fit radial calipers with 330mm iron discs. Said he's going to send me discs, calipers, lines, brake and clutch mc's with numerous spacers to make it all work😃

Hemi,
Have a look at these people. I rate them highly, I got a conversion kit for my Audi A4 and it is fantastic.

They do kits for bikes as well including the Gen1 which I have posted before but also sell all the parts separately if they don't do a kit for your machine. They do proper Bi-Xenon projector reflector units with solenoid actuated changeover that stops your beam pattern going everywhere. Mot testers are getting hot on Xenon conversions now because of the boy racers just switching the bulbs out but these are properly developed and my car has been through three Mot's now with no problem.

any more news on the gsxr1100?????

after all the below

Finish building my mancave and fitting it out, few bits on my gixxer k 7 I want to do and put a thicker clutch steel in the rsv to cure the high rpm slip, service the forks on my multistrada and change the cam belts. Rebuild my 9r after smashing it on the way back from Scotland, scotchbriting the frame and zx10 swingarm I have for it and repaint the new bodywork. Finish the build on an f2 9r me and my mate are doing and hopefully restart the build on my gpz1000rx and a load of work to do on my dodge...

I haven’t done much on it lately, I’ve bought a big sheet of aluminium to make the tray for all the electrics to sit on and a battery case with a anti gravity lithium battery, got a bit carried away with my k7 and sorting bits on my zx9r. The 1100 will be finished this year though.

Couldn’t decide on the under tray but finally decided on carbon fibre, easier to shape and well it’s carbon fibre 😊 just gotta cut another small piece for the rear section.

Laying out the electrics and had some new battery cables made, just gotta make a few small tabs and glue them to the tray for a couple of components.

Looks really neat now doesn't it. Was that just a sheet of ready made carbon fibre then? Interesting seeing the battery all the way at the back of the tail I think. I've just now had a Shido lithium delivered so I know there's not going to be too much weight there though.

I ordered a square sheet and some angle to make the small mounts from a company called easy composites, bit dusty cutting it and you get black but it is called carbon.

The battery used to sit down by the shock and looked a mess, the box was made from about 4 pieces with some relays etc bolted to the underside of it, I like the nice open look so it had to move, and I’ve probably saved a kilo junking the battery box.

Yeah just organic, gluten free carbon isn't it. Well except for the resin ha.

That new open battery bracket looks a bit GP like to me, looks good Thumbs Up
