It's still just an inline 4 but Jesus, they are some impressive figures... 215 bhp and ,get this, 146 kg dry weight.... ....
Still rather have a 1299 Superlegerra mind you

Ain't they just Nicky, that 146 kg figure is stunning, it's lighter than a WSB and not much more than a Moto GP bike... amazing

Wow those figures!

I did read a year or so ago that BMW had patented a method of producing carbon parts and frames in great numbers. They already had a few frame designs and said they could bring the benefits of carbon to the masses and make it affordable. I suppose this is probably a first and the tech will start to trickle down into other models. I wonder if other manufactures will follow suit? Be interesting to see where we are a decade from now.

I need to buy a carbon tig welder LOL
Question everything.

Love or hate the German bikes...facts are facts and thats some serious numbers

I rode a 2016 Pani R (Friends £27k bike) and they claim something like 205bhp - for the road it was ridiculous. The torque got me every time

I do have a bit of a thing for the 1199 and 1299 Panigale's , and the 1098/1198 come to that, and while that Beemer is a stunning bit of kit, i cant help feeling itd just lack a bit of character, its still awesomely executed though and I'd be very interested to see the results of a shootout on circuit between that and the 1299 Superlegerra.

Be nice when it does start appearing on more models Rick, Ducati have done it as well on their 1299 Superlegerra havent they although whether that will filter down at all from them as they're going to the V4 next so probably not going to see any carbon framed Monster's any time soon

Awesome track day tool, but completely pointless on the road. (unless there's a dick waving competition that is LOL)
Amazing numbers don't always make a better bike.
Take away the rider aids, traction, rain, anti-wheelie (wtf?) abs, pitch control etc, and you're left with something that's basically unridable. In the real world anyway. It's all very clever, and technology marches onwards etc etc...but 200hp? really?
The 130 or so that the Tuono punts out sometimes has me crapping and tieing myself in knots, so 200? nahhhh....
Furthermore....I know that's ME ragging the ar5e off my Tuono that is.....ME.
Nobody else...ME...no  ECU's , no blokes  in a test lab, no computer programs or algorithms...nothing to take control of the throttle input...just ME.
And I love it that way.

Here's some pics I took of  two BMW's (beautiful to be fair) that came wobbling into the Pondo a few months back. Obviously ridden to the limits eh?
They seemed to be coping with all that power really well..LOL

Sorry....I'll get my coat.

I could add that bit they aint used and put it on my 10s rear.
Now scrubbing the word Diablo Rosso Corsa out on mine and only ridden it four times.
Oh but hang on , maybe the Tyre Wear Over to Much Indicator advansed ,double varriable interlocked Phase locked loop system warning light came on and stopped them going from the vertical,,,,, maybe ?
I used to be uncertain , but now i'm not sure anymore

There's some truth in this too. For anyone thats ridden a RSV4 or Tuono 1100 Factory hard you'll I'm sure say the same. I try not track mine too often as its 'meant' to be my road bike but christ its fast when I pin it. Without WC on 1 it would definitely have you off the back if you didnt shut off. Great for pulling mile long wheelies but not so good when trying to get a move on

My last bike made a 'mere' 140hp crank and I could rag it feeling a hero. A very good rider who Im out with every week owns an MT10 (Nickboy met him) and after less than a year is looking at the Triumph 765 simply because the MT when thrashed will lift at 3 digit speeds on any crest, bump etc

That beemer would be every track day and racers dream...but for the road its willy waving

+1 on what that man said, I can crap myself and still risk a government paid holiday with Bubba and his soap on a rope with my 10 year old Tuono and I love it for all it's analogue-ness.

TIFA for PM, the man talks sense Thumbs Up
