hHi Guys,

Just thought i would say hello, just picked a Falco yesterday ( by van) so had not ridden it, so spent today stripping and cleaning bike has a few mods, Penske rear shock, oberon slave cyl, short levers (make escapes me), twin carbon cans and upgraded chip but all in all a nice bike 2002 model, what i am getting to is i am lucky enough to also have Gen 1 rsv which i have had for four years and decided to go for the Falco as read it was more of a sports tourer, sports tourer my arse ! this bike is mental ! its as fast as my Mille and corneres just as well feeling very happy at present with my choice as it is comfier....win..win for me

Hey ho ... And how do ... Bit of a misconception about it being a sports tourer IIRC it just happens that its something it does.... like other things ... Very well not sure which forum you mean for the other but RiderSite is great for falco stuff and a few of us are present here and there as well

I am looking at the red silver colours as I as thinking of doing something similar to one of mine so you've done me a favour there ta :)

Common changes are the sidestand ... Its made of cheese and the sprockets (15 in the front is commons bed makes a big difference)
But even standard they are still a brilliant bike and you lready have some great changes there hope you enjoy them as much as I do

I have the Mille r and a Falco.

Both great bikes. But I will say that the mille has more power further up the rev range of the falco due to bigger valve heads.

My falco is well sorted will an ohlins serviced and resprung, The falco is a very quick bike and a lot of fun.

I also have a futura with an ohlins rear shock and falco front forks with progressive springs.

I would also like to point out I have no money for drugs lol.....LOL

Not much if any difference?
Just a different riding position. But the pegs on the falco are slightly lower?

The mille handlebars are nearer but lower. But the falco is further away but higher.

Both are great bikes to ride, especially when the rear shock is changed on the falco. Tongue

Standard shock is poor. Confused

What about the Futura, a good tourer or compromised in any way?

The futura is a great bike to ride. But in standard form the rear shock just doesn't cut it.

Upgrades could be a wilburs shock which REV's supply.

I fitted an AP8130 ohlins shock to the standard futura linkages which was re valved and re sprung to suit my weight.

The front end has the falco legs to allow the 320mm disks to be fitted instead of the 300mm disks.

The forks have had a full service with progressive springs to suit my weight also.

The result is the bike turns in quickly and handles really well.

There is a lot of upgrades for the futura to keep things running as they should.

As a tourer the bike is easy to ride quickly, and performs really well.

Apart from the engine, there is little comparison to the falco and mille. Wink
