I'm very surprised that more people don't come over from the UK hoovering up great value used bikes. For years we had to go the UK for nice bikes because of how expensive they were at dealers here but they've never been cheaper. In fact, I'd eat my hat if it wasn't a UK bike originally.

There is a better selection of bikes in uk where here a lot of owners don't keep a service history and r model or sp model bikes are harder to find it's a huge pity along with the poor dealer backup or lack of don't help.

And a lot of them tend to be ridden hard and put away wet! The problem I have always found with DoneDeal is that a lot of the sellers don't understand the meaning of "excellent condition".

Absolutely true but the thing about FSH and extras is that a fully loaded, well minded bike is usually a similar price to the dull as dishwater Credit Union spec ones. If I were looking for a €5k+ type bike or something special, I wouldn't necessarily be looking in the UK any more and in some case, some really great premium standard bikes from dealers (that are often not advertised on DD) would be worth travelling from the UK for.

Very true on both counts. There was a ( showroom condition ) Cbr 600 for sale and it rough and crashed and had more cable ties holding it together. I spent months looking for a bike after that. then I had almost stopped looking when my current just appeared on a fourm I went to view it 10 mins from where I live took a test ride and was hooked deal was done.

My 00 model ( 01 reg ) has about 23000 on it. Neighbours hate it and me when I ride past a car with an alarm it sets them that was before putting on a scorpion carbon can on it lol

The model year thing is defo very funny over here. A dealer near enough to me still has a couple of new unreg'd K6/K7 gixxer 750s/ 1000's. Going back a few years he had maybe a half dozen or more of them but he's down to maybe 2 or 3 as of my last visit.

I think he's looking for something like their face value as new unreg'd bikes tbh although with this guy, he's a real horse-trader and you can be sure you'd only get the 'real' price if you made it clear you might actually buy one. This guy won't even put asking prices on his DD ads and he's famous for quoting completely different prices to different people on different days! You might say he's a bit of a character!!
