This has been an ongoing issue for a few weeks now, the bike normally starts ok and the fuel pump primes but if I attempt to ride it I'll get down the road and the bike will just cut out on me I'll then leave the ignition on while the fuel pump primes loads of times and the pump relay under the pillion seat clicks, after a few minutes it stops it will then start until it dies again it does seem to not cut out as much if I just give it a little throttle so far I've changed the fuel pump assembly, changed the tip over sensor as it was broken inside changed relays under pillion seat and battery is good, I've connected the diagnostic wires put the bike in gear and held the starter button the fuel pump primes then after a while it comes up with 12 and then 11?

It does sound like fuel as it runs but as soon as there is a significant fuel demand your troubles start. was the fuel pump new or known good (Not just stated as good by a breaker), is the filter clear? Breather hose blocked?

It's a "known" good one it dies come with warranty though, I also noticed there was a kink in the hp fuel line I tried to straighten it the best I could and there's definitely fuel getting through could this be the cause? I'm not sure why I'm getting those codes come up though, and also I did change the eprom but it had been running perfectly fine for weeks

I would have thought if it was the fuel line it wouldn't cut out Completely like it does

Take the ECU out, remove the top and take a look inside. Best to disconnect the battery first.
Sounds like a loose connection or soldered joint gone bad. Worth checking the electrical connector too.

Try pushing the wires in more that go into ecu there's nothing in ecu that's lose that I can think off

That could certainly be it. I would have suggested that if I knew you had a replacement EPROM as that happened with mine. It would run for miles no problem then hit a bump or a certain rev range where the vibes would cause it to move and the engine would cut out. It would then start again and run fine until the same happened. I did a roadside repair to fully seat the EPROM and it's now been fine for a couple of thousand miles.
Hopefully you have found it. |
