Evening everyone. My Gen 2 T Factory master cylinder seals are shot, nobody I've rung about seal kits seems to reliably know where replacements can be sought. Griff drew a blank too.

Does anyone know whether it's the same cylinder for Gen 1 & 2, Factory & R if I chance trying to find a second hand unit ?  They all look very similar from internet piccies but if someone knows and can confirm that would be mighty useful. Thanks.

Try this company, addiction motorsport, I’ve had numerous parts from them.

Maybe cross reference to KTM parts?

I believe they supply Brembo spares that other brands like Aprilia and Ducati won't on the brake side at least Confused

Do PowerHouse supply clutch seals like they do on the brake side?  I've never asked.

When you think about it a seal is just a seal, nothing fancy,it's like bearings, they're mostly just a generic item bought off the shelf so it should be possible to just take the piston and seals to an industrial supplier and see if they would check their inventory.

Hi Ian,

I've just dropped Powerhouse an enquiry, they seem to focus solely on brakes but if you don't ask.....
They're another useful supplier I wasn't aware of so thanks for the heads up.
Underline
Ref the KTM thoughts I've already discussed this with a couple of suppliers as I'd read  similar comments elsewhere, the universal answer so far is 'dunno mate'.

Griff mentioned historically Aprilia wouldn't commit to some commercial agreement with Brembo hence you can't find a repair kit listed anywhere but I agree with you that there must be commonality with other M/C makes particularly with bikes from the same era.

I like your thoughts on taking the dismantled parts to a more general supplier, time to trawl the local trading estates.

The trouble with KTM is you have to know which bike uses what proprietary part as they seem to only give you the time of day if you can ask for part X for a model??? KTM if my local shop is typical.

But if you think about things like clutch seals etc chances are they're generic throughout the transport industry and the parts you need may be used on a truck or a car somewhere, the trick is finding someone interested enough to cross reference for you.

Good luck,if you track down some seals be sure to post up.

I seem to recall someone in the past actually commissioned a batch run of uprated seals for I think the MPL/Factory slaves and sold on the excess to make their money back.

It's documented somewhere on AF1  which seals they were.

Hiya, I've just rebuilt my Gen 1 Clutch master cyl with a kit from wemoto, the new dust seal is a bit pants and I should have tried to save the old onel but the master cyl is now as good as new. Not sure if they do a kit for the gen 2 though. I think it's a different diamter so the gen 1 kit won't fit.

If anyone does find a kit for the gen 2 master cyls, I'd love to know!
