I've not cross checked the part No's but I have read somewhere on the Af1 forum that it is indeed the same unit pressed into service throughout the Aprilia range. How true that is I don't know but given it's characteristics I can well believe it's true. I believe the correct year 'blade stand is a straight swap complete. However, depending on your tyre profile and suspension settings some people have had to modify them lengthwise. |

And that should be the clincher right there. How much do you value your bike? In an ideal world the ultimate stand would be the complete US issue unit but modded to have an adjustable length foot so you could fine tune the resting angle to suit your own personal suspension settings. It tickles me when people spend so much on fancy, shiny bits for their bikes which do bugger all in the real world except make their 'customized' look just the same as everyone else's, yet balk at spending on something that could stop the whole lot crashing to the ground. |

Did someone say adjustable stand. I've never come across one before but the gen2 I'm breaking has exactly that in a nice finish. Certainly does the job well. Will be up for sale soon as I can get the aprilia in the bay once I've finished work on my k6 hopefully very soon.

uprated starter cables etc also help as the originals won’t be able to carry all that voltage
Designed to replace existing OE starting circuit cables and allows for the full current flow from 220CCA batteries when used with the genuine 150A Solenoid (OE Cables can only manage 170 when new).

He's right there Absolutely no point in having a decent battery without replacing the cables to handle the load. Those lengths of limp spaghetti Luigi threw at the Aprilia twins a lifetime ago were barely adequate when the bikes were new,now many years of use later they are nowhere near capable, John's cable kits are really an essential upgrade for reliable riding. |

Ok. Yeah, makes sense. Should I upgrade the solenoid as well?

Depends,it could already have been done, not sure if they're marked regarding rating. It certainly needs the later 150a version though. |

what year, my brother had a 2020 and didn't get on with it and got a new rsv4, the downlow grunt of the Aprilia will make the blade feel like a 600. when i had my gen 2 i parked next to a 954 and in comparison the calliper's and front forks looked like they came in a box of coco pops.

I've got a small update. Upgraded the battery to the way overpowered one and the bike starts great now. Didn't upgrade cables nor solenoid because felt too lazy. Replaced the stand though because the stock one really was dodgy.
I've also changed the oil and disovered I had the wrong oil filter... my RSV has the extended filter cover. I've also topped it up all the way to the top of the indicator, and from some reading, I think it should be half, should I drain some oil to bring it to half way point? Thanks |

Fill to half way then run engine a couple of times until the fan kicks in and then check the level.
