Hi I am after a black front airintake that holds the indicators for my Aprilia Touno 2009 as I hit a pigeon on the way home from work friday. Please let me know if you have one available.

Just how bad is the now damaged one?

I know some don’t like doing it but is it plastic weldable ? Have all the pieces? I’ve had great results with glue and a soldering iron. Neat repairs are very possible.

Obviously If half of it is missing that’s a no go.

There is a red one on eBay. Trouble being it’s the whole upper fairing and lights from the states for several £££’s. You could be lucky with one being broken somewhere

Ah, I had them and Ultimate Parts both up on my monitors earlier looking for something else but I only bothered checking Ultimate's before posting  as I just assumed one would follow the other Embarrassed

My unit is cracked where the indicator stalk lived when the bike fell over for the PO,it's roughly plastic welded but I left it slightly visible as I don't want to have to have to try and get the metallic Dream Blue paint professionally sprayed,

 Thinks Confused

Actually part 3 comes up as Air Intake_ Shield and Guard under the same number. Confused

Think I may take a punt for that price though.

Thank you

I didn’t delve that far Ian.

I normally would put the part number in google to double check the image in case, but I was rushing and being a tad lazy. Fingers crossed it’s correct and both of you get sorted.

I look forward to the finished article!

I almost ordered a new front mudguard at the same time but decided the good condition but wrong colour Black item in place would do for a while, bloody silly prices for a plastic guard imho.

Might be better off trying to get some Blue Dream paint mixed instead.

Considering I never gelled with this bike when I last rode it 3+ years ago I've invested a shed load of money in it as a refurb project just for something to do,so I hope when it's back together I feel differently about it.

I’m pretty sure it will feel totally different to you now Ian.

If I rode my gen2 against a standard or mildly tuned one, I’d believe I was on two totally different makes of bike. Some of it was in my head certainly, however, I’d taken it apart and put back together, everything moved as it should and I had confidence on it as I trusted myself.

Just using a 1” bar riser on my V4 Tuono totally changed how I feel on it. I can definitely get around faster and more confident than before for a minor tweak. Bet once you get out on it and borrow a standard one you will really feel it too.

I hope so or it'll me me asking whether I should sell it as is or put it back to stock and sell all the goodies separately LOL

Also poetic justice for me possibly jumping in before Robbie I had a mail this morning telling me my payment had been credited back as my order was unavailable.

It seems their website is anything but up to date,as evidenced by the comment lower down the page saying there are presently difficulties in delivery from Aprilia,.... dated early 2021

Oh well, that's £94 saved to go towards a Maxton/Ktech rear shock to go with the full Ktech fork upgrade kit waiting in the spares pile

Yep, I ordered some valve shims of them earlier this year, supposed to be in stock but they weren't. So I saved my self the £15 each and paid £2.50 for aftermarket ones (Not stainless as OE mind)

I find they're only really much good for the exploded parts diags, they sometimes give more details like sizes of bolts washer and bearings and seals etc than Ultimate Parts.

Speaking of which I noticed a NOS Gen2 frame on there in the reduced pile, reduced from £2922.22 to  £395  it was so cheap I was almost tempted to buy it just because LOL

Thanks for your replys guys appreciate the feedback. I did email the person in the states to ask if he would be prepared to sell that bit separately and unfortunately he said no because that's the hardest part to get hold of. Will just keep looking hopefully one comes up at some point. I got my dad to glue it but as there was a piece missing he had to reinforce it with some plastic. Hopefully be ok to ride until one comes up. 👍 Hope you get on well with your bike Ian. Thanks again guys. 👍
