Bought a mint 9k miles 03 Gen 1 in black November 2018, had essential electrical upgrades done by Griff at AP plus other works including Aprilia Ti race can, sounds awesome.Have only managed to get out a few times since buying it but what a awesome real world bike, wish I had discovered this bike a long ago.

Took mine out for the first time this summer yesterday..you forget how much fun they are.

Rear brake needs some attention now...got hot, went solid and now hardly works at all. Pads look OK, but the fluid probably needs a change. Hey ho!

That sounds like the linkage has been adjusted up too tightly. Common issue when people try to improve the rear brake.
I forget the correct clearance before the rod contacts the piston but a couple of mm at least I think just to be on the safe side.
People have been killed in the past because of uncalled for brakes locking.

Also if this happens changing the fluid and possibly even the pads if they overheated may be a good idea.
