I have the dreaded shudder from the front when braking.
I cleaned out the bobbins last night but I suspect that I'm up for new disks. I'll find out later this week when I next take the Tuono out.

What are the recommendations for replacement front disks and pads?
Standard or something else?

thanks
D

Probably depends on the depth of your pockets, even the Chinese copies aren't cheap and it gets progressively more expensive as you go through OEM and into bling aftermarket kit.

Brembo Serie Oro discs are a great replacement/upgrade.... match a set of those with a set of SBS race sinter pads and you'll have all the stopping power you'll ever need๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘Œ
Better to have something you don't need than need something you don't have....

Ah OK I thought it maybe the same problem I'm having, mine only happens at very low speed bit I'm still to look into it yet, I've had an advisory for the thickness so replacements might be my only option.

I've got a pair of front discs sitting in the loft if you need some. Used but good and I can measure the thickness if you want

Agree, Oros are fantastic, but be careful where you buy them from.
Loads of Chinese copies. Hard to tell the difference.
Until you try to stop...

thanks for all the help, yesterday I gave the rivets a good cleanout with brake cleaner and spun them around a few times each to remove any grit stuck under them. The inconsistant grabbing/pulsing seems to have gone now.

Always useful to try that first.

I know the theory about bobbins not being designed to spin, but if cleaning them flushes out crap and grit it has to be a good thing.

I think many of the road riders convinced they have warped discs are actually suffering from debris in the bobbins and they just haven't cleaned the things properly

Hi, cleaning my bobbins etc worked for along time but in the end they were knackered so had to replace em , so keep cleaning a spinning until it doesnโ€™t work any more  imo ?
