I just bought another salvage Factory to tidy up,
Early 03my bike on an '04 plate, PN04LVL in red/silver Mileage is circa 28k, reset on dash before its MOT in March 17 but was 24k prior to then. I think it was a loss in July 17 and only just released by the insurance company I'm just curious if the owner is on here Mr A Fraser, Blackpool. Turns out this is a one owner machine I just have to tidy it up, wrong bolts in wrong places, dirt everywhere, side panels trashed and oil cooler sprung a leak. The only hardware this needs really, is an oil cooler, and a front brake lever and right standard can. I have a suspicion this may have slid away from someone on track. Evidence on the bike suggests it's been down on the left previously, but I suspect this claim was after going down on the right. All new damage is right sided, and I have a suspicion the oil cooler failed as a consequence of the initial spill a while back, but this time I think it was oil on the rear tyre. I'm only summising having spent a couple of hours stripping it back, but the surprise as I say, was that it's a one owner bike which is very unusual. I've yet to decide what I'm going to do with this one, I will be selling it, and it'll either get ebay side panels, or, it may go silver or black as I have that kit stashed. One consideration was a Chinese body kit as I really like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fairings-Bodywork-Kit-For-Aprilia-RSV1000-R-Mille-2003-2006-Colorfull-Alice-Sax/112730741571?fits=UKM_Model%3ARSV%7CUKM_StreetName%3AFactory&hash=item1a3f469b43:g:pUIAAOSwfrxZwy8H Let me know if anyone knows the last owner? Or what the concensus is on colours, this will be for sale soon, Cat N (old D) minor cosmetic only. It has very recent chain and sprokets, it's also has the rear master cylinder relocated. I haven't had it running, as the battery is done and I haven't swapped the oil cooler yet. It would appear the immobiliser has been bypassed too, as the module is missing, and a couple of loom areas have been altered. Also, with the kit above, what colour tank do you think would go best with it? I have all colours, but I have a late black tank with red Aprilia font which I was thinking but will take ideas ;O) |

Who do you buy these from mate. Before I had to sell everything for the house deposit I was doing up and selling bikes. Im almost at a point to start again and was considering insurance bikes as gumtree and ebay prices are silly these days no room for profit unless you are very quick to spot a bargain .

This one was ebay,
Also too expensive haha, last minute sniping war as usual, it's a joke, Tempting to just break it tbh, the problem with all this trade stuff now is that the insurance companies auction it to the public so they get a slightly higher sale price. Yet potential buyers really want clear title bikes for the same money, it makes reconditioning them a bit pointless. I just like the 04 bikes. If it wasn't for me knowing them as I do I wouldn't have bothered, but I have parts to repair a couple still, just don't think this one is worth using my best parts on due to the mileage. It is rare to find a one owner machine these days though, so I may do the Chinese body kit. Will see what you guys think, it'll look lovely I'm sure, and someone will want to own it. |

Yeah it is difficult, I read recently that dealers are now paying people to search the net to pick up cheap stock as the second hand market is so strong. Have you used CO PART or any similar insurance salvage companies?
Breaking them does seem to be the most profitable these days but its a shame to split good bikes and obviously way more time consuming. Be interesting to see the special fried bodykit though .

well, I've had this running, and for sure the immobiliser was removed. It took a while to fire on two but a touch of throttle soon brought the other cylinder backfiring into life, yay.
oil cooler now swapped and silver kit on. The bracket of the original cooler wasn't coming off, so I straightened the one from the replacement reasonably well but it isn't ideal. I'll change it again no doubt. I'll also no doubt, swap this cooler again, as whilst it isn't leaking, it has some damage to the fins and galleries that I don't want really, fine for others, I just use better in general so have another coming from the U.S. Mad but true haha. The rear brake conversion is preventing the right side of the fairing attaching correctly without some modification which is out of the question on these panels, or some improvisation which I'm also not happy with, so I ordered a complete set up also from the States. It seems the states have some bits for me at the moment, as most of the Ducati parts are coming from there too, shame the import duty and carriage is so high, otherwise the parts are better and cheaper than often found here! So, the bike is close to finished, now having my Akrapovic SP cans on with mono hangers. I restored the number plate hanger with OEM reflector but need another number plate as this is too high now, but I may for now, drill two more holes in it to lower it. Next is to complete the factory settings for the suspension. New front brake lever went on fine, and the indicators are all back to orange, much better. Sorry I don't know how to get pics onto this site and I don't use photo hosting etc. Will add them to the same thread on AF1 though fwiw. |

the BMW rider was a passer by from the other direction, such a nice guy, called people for me. Another guy in a car or van was a Marshall for the IOM TT, he took these pictures on my phone after the other guy had spoken to family.
The elderly lady was just ace, 30 degree heat and she was the first to see if I was breathing before speaking to the hysterical driver, then came back and stood there for so long holding the umbrella to keep the sun off me. Between them I dare say may be why I am. My breathing was deteriorating and the sense of nausea was creeping in, my left arm under my ribs, and beginning to get clammy, and restless, and I recognised where this can lead so had some help getting air, and moving just a little which started to change everything ;O) Too fresh in my mind so that's all you're getting today sorry...…... |

Haha, yes, a bit of a sore point that. Not that they're missing, they're in my front room. My Mrs is rather unhappy for a couple of reasons.
On the 14th July we were due to leave for Italy in that Mercedes, for a bit of a tour over three weeks for Mrs 50th, and before I advertised it. I got wiped out on the 29th of June. I'm an agent for Pristine Wheels, and these wheels I'd just had refurbished for the second time in the 12 years I've had the car, with the original diamond turned look. New Continental Sport Contact 3's fitted, and ready to fit to the already cleaned car, but on the Friday I went for a ride... |

Mine's a 320 facelift V6, with 28k, 1 prior owner. I know some go on about the V8's but the truth is it's a GT car, less about outright power really. If you're driving one of these trying to squeeze every HP from it you're in the wrong car.
The style only supports straight line cruising at speed, so it becomes about noise preferences of other engines really. The V6 is still a fine 150mph car. I have a 2002 CL500 W215 too for just over 9 years @183k, I don't use either. |

having had both the m113 is nearly identical running cost maintenance and fuel wise as the smaller m112 with 100bhp more. sounds like you have a good'n with low miles will be worth some serious money one day, the 215 is a great car my brother has a 2005 CL65 215 612bhp. such a classic looking big coupe one of my all time faves.
sorry i glanced over your accident pic i was just excited to know more about the 129, i myself had a collision at 60 on an R6 when i was a kid and laid in the road with all sorts going on so i know how it feels, hope your doing ok mate.
