ill have a think jim,i was actualy after a new one and keep the std screen, as i like to keep the oem parts when i alter anything. what tyres you running pal, look like pilot road 3 or 4's? i loved the road 3's i had on an r1.couldnt fault them at all.

no problem, they are road 3's im finding them to be rather vague in the corners, but that could just be me. the more i ride on them the better they feel to be honest.

tbh i think a mille will ask a fair bit more of its tyres than an early r1.

i found them to be anyway jim,how they make and put their power and torque down onto the road.metzlers are good, had k2 and k3 a d the m7rr and couldnt fault either.once a brands in your head as good and confidence inspiring you tend to stick with it.same with bad experiences,
Ive never used any modern dunlops simply cos i hated the old 207 and 208's i used many yrs ago on r1's. Probably missed out on some very good tyres as a consequence but its the last name i think of buying. Use to love the old bridgestones.

I'm the same with Michelin Matt, wouldn't have them for free after some very bad experiences with Pilot Sports in years gone by I'm starting to believe that a lot of differences or prejudices probably come more from set up issues rather the tyres as such. You may really love brand A then swap to brand B and they feel like crap, thing is no two tyre brands are the same size regardless of what it says on the sidewalls and a few adjustments may make you really happy with brand B. Still wouldn't touch Michy's with a bargepole though |

lol.
i had the 1st 4xv 98 r1 back in 2000 and it came with dunlops and the front use to wear weird on the sides, making the middle like a point. it use to tip in horrible mate,no confidence in the front end, which wasnt good back then on what was one of the fastest bikes on the road for a young man in his very early 20's and rode with a death wish lmao. just put me off em for life. use to love the old bt014 iirc. seriously considering trying them newer bridgeys,s20 are they?

Not sure tbh,I used RS10's and the Mille ate the rear for breakfast Awesome on the front though, still got that same tyre now matched with an Avon Ultra Extreme on the back which feels good on track |
