Took it out for a spin today for the first time since getting it 3 weeks ago as the weather looked half decent.
Turned out not to be quite as warm and sunny and dry once out, though, and didn`t get far, about 15 miles or so, when the fuel light came on and I decided to head back home.
Obviously, I was only taking it easy and getting a feel for it but it felt just as good I expected it would and can`t wait to start having some proper fun on it.
A few minor things that I found though;
The mirrors seemed a bit useless, even by superbike standards, and didn`t adjust enough to be able to see anything at all behind. I take it that the only adjustment is in moving the glass and that`s it?
The left hand switch block could do with rotating upwards so that the indicator switch is more easily accessible but I later found a peg inside locates it in that position and prevents rotating it. Do people manage with it as it is or remove the peg or anything?
Here it is now with all the parts/stickers removed/swapped/changed that I didn`t/did want on it.

Yep. Crap mirrors & oddly placed indicator switch. Gen 2 alright.

Looks lovely bud and they sound awesome with the twin Akras. I take it you have the baffles out?

The mirrors aren’t much good but I managed to get them in a fairly decent position when I had my gen 2. Just about acceptable I guess

There’s not much you can do about the indicator switch, you’ll get used to it eventually. Plenty of accidental horn presses in the meantime!

Do you know if the engine is set up for map variant 2 to suit the Akras? Well worth checking, although you’ll need someone with the correct diagnostic tool, like Griff at AP

Yeah it sounds lovely. The baffles came with it but I don`t see any point in trying it with them in.
Just a shame that you only get to hear it as you ride along with an helmet on. I bet it sounds even more awesome to everyone else as you ride bye.
I`m assuming that it`s been mapped/set up for the current configuration as there`s a reciept for what looks like some tuning/ecu work amongst the paperwork that came with it.

Looks great in red buddy really tasty, nothing quite like the honeymoon of a new bike. First ride, clean and general sort out. As said above the niggles are the norm. Mirrors are sh*t but hey ho and you do get used to the winker switch after a while but you will be beeping people to say " hey look at me on my sexy ape".

Let the modding begin
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

Ref the switch position, just pull the brass pin out (might need a bit of a twist) and throw it Wink

I've done this on all my bikes as it opens up many possibilities,I think the only reason they're there is to allow speedy and consistent assembly on the production line where seconds matter.

For what it's worth I rotated my switch assy slightly to minimize any accidental horn triggering

Thanks for that. I wondered if it could just be pulled out but was a bit wary of just using brute force and knackering it up.
I`ll definitely have to try it because, not only is the indicator switch almost on the underside of the switch block, but also the whole block itself is not set at the same sort of angle as the right hand side switch block and my sense of symmetry will not allow that at all ...

I seem to recall it was a knurled brass pin so it needed a bit of a twist while pulling.

One advantage with removal is that pin in can limit the positioning of the levers, pin out means you can position wherever you find comfortable

I also normally have my control levers just nipped up on the bars which gives added safety should the bike go over.

This sometimes causes comments by an Mot inspector but they normally know why it's done and just move on after letting me know

Yes it is. I couldn`t get it to pull out so cut it off and then it just decided to fall out itself as I started grinding it down.
Moved the block into the ideal position only to find that the indicator switch now hits the tank before the steering lock will engage so had to move it back to almost the original position....
I guess thats why there`s a pin in it..

Oops, Oh well nothing ventured Confused

I have a Gen1 Mille and a Gen2 Tuono and not had that problem on either so perhaps clearances are tighter on a  Gen2 with clipons

Just a thought,is your tank swollen? perhaps that could be the problem

Now that I think about it there wasn`t much clearance between the switch and the tank before. I guess I`ll just get used to it where it is now.

Is there a way to adjust it? - I presume the steering lock is just a peg dropping into a hole in the steering head.
The problem is not being able to move the bars enough to the left to engage the steering lock before the switch hits the tank rather than needing to limit the movement of the bars to prevent the switch hitting the tank.

You used to be able to get mirror extenders  which spaces them from teh body by about 50 mm   - they work a treat .

If you can find them for sale .

Thanks for that. Sounds like what I need.
Just had a quick look and they do seem still readily available on Ebay & Amazon, but are 50 odd quid...!!
Think I`ll see if I can manage as they are first.
