Talk of average speed cameras being put up on what is known as the evo triangle in North Wales, cerrugydrudion way. I know it's been heavily policed in past. Love that road too...

Sorry Officer, it would appear my number plate has fallen off, it must be the vibration caused by these V twins...

The worst of the worst type of camera but also the most effective. We have a few areas round my way with them I just avoid those routes altogether.
If it works in Wales they will pop up everywhere and ruin all our fun the bastards. |

Over this way, they hang an old car tyre filled with petrol over them and light it. I could never condone such activities of course. |

Question everything.

I can well believe they'll put those cameras up around the triangle, and for once it's not us that's to blame,it's the 4 wheeled cowboys this time.
Those roads are very isolated though with no lighting so any cameras would be very at risk if someone should be offended by them It is a challenge to stick to 60 though, although I have to say the trees being chopped down around the Cerrig bound leg have ruined the ride for me as it opens the view up far to much prompting more right hand which isn't a good idea |

There's a few cameras locally here, that some find very offensive. Every time they get repaired, someone burns them out, using a tyre full of petrol. |

Such a shame that the cameras get burnt π. Yes Ian it's the racers in cars I believe that have caused this. Before long if it's successful they'll be popping up everywhere

Guys, guys......there's a much more subtle and satisfying way of dealing with speed cameras, of any type.
Insulating tape over the lenses. Unobtrusive but hugely effective. The feds don't notice it for weeks/months.

I dont know if this is the case in other parts of the country but here in Norfolk all of the speed cameras have been replaced by a digital version which uploads pictures directly to a main database so no need for film changes. Such a shame that tbey are front facing with the exception of two in Norwich which can get you both ways. Bike friendly

I know the ones you're on about Adam, my Daughter's boyfriend got caught by one of them a couple of months back when he was going to pick her up from clubbing, I said she should at least pay his fine to help soften the blow, poor lad.

They put them up at the Cat and Fiddle 5 or 6 years ago now due to similar problems (bad accidents and deaths)so I suppose with the sheer amount of accidents we hear about in North Wales (IanG and I live very local) it was inevitable really. Itβs a shame no doubt though.

Aye the triangle isn't far from me either. I love going up north for spin but I'm always concentrating more on looking for plod especially around bala and Trawsfynydd that it spoils it a bit. Mind you bala way has always been bad for plod
