Hi guys.

Got asv levers on my gen2 and im struggling to get it where i want it.

The lever is really far out from the bar, so i adjusted the levers using the red adjuster cog, then the clutch wont disengage and drags. Am i missing something? I did read something about adjusting the plunger pin but not sure if thats what i need to do?

Well I have asv levers on my gen 1 (thanks to diablo) and I have no problem, you will always need the clutch lever out further than the brake, in case you are trying to match them, the extra distance is needed to get the correct travel I guess. Before you go adjusting the clutch master cylinder pin maybe make sure the clutch doesn't need to be bled, was the clutch working fine with the OE levers.

The correct plunger pin adjustment is to have 10mm of free play in the lever at the tip of lever blade. Any less and you risk slip as the fluid heats and anymore you will get drag.

If you have an aftermarket slave it will restrict the lever distance positions that will work well. The larger slave piston requires more fluid movement to move the clutch rod the same distance as oem so will require a bit longer lever throw.

Thanks for the comments guys. Theres currently an oberon on it. Spoonz just so i am reading your post right, do you mean free play as in how much the piston will depress till it feels resistance of the clutch plates? I think i know what you mean. I think theres more than that by memory. Will check

10mm until you feel any resistance at the lever.

Theres about 30mm of softness till it hits resistance. Il adjust the pin. Sounds promising

it's free play your adjusting so literally the point where there is no resistance whatsoever. If it's soft but with some resistance that sounds more like a bit of air in there.

Got round to doing this today. I was expecting to see something inside the master cylinder to adjust it, nothing. Just a metal non adjustable pin. Check on net and this said pin is what is adjustable on "most" rsv's. Well not mine.

So i cut some 6mm stainless bar 5mm longer and the free play is down to about 10-15mm. Not run it yet but also bled it. Wasnt any air in there so must have been a too short of a pin.

Next damn issue is the vent pipe keeps dripping fuel. Checked if its split inside by removing the cap, putting finger over the tank hole and blowing through both drain pipe. Its airtight. Im suspecting the main cap surround gasket might be naff and letting the fuel seep out into the cap drainage. Never ending!

Mod was short lived. Caused clutch slip after riding for about 10 mins. Freeplay went away and that was it. Shame it felt like a bream to ride the clutch till then.

Hmm good spot. Supposed to be dream. But then i guess it could be as good as a fish. Spoonz was spot on though with fluid heating up. Il think of something. Doesnt help jumping on and off from a jap bike.
