After doing some research I found that out. To cheap to be a rep to, gutted. I think I'll give it a miss. The hunt goes on.

Its just got the number 41 on it! No haga rep.
Regarding the mileage, it might not be as bad as you think. I've bought 2 milles with mot's that were sometimes in km and sometimes in miles. As long as they went up each year in sensible degrees, when converted to miles, and never down, it may well be fine and just the garage writing it down differently. That app you have may not be totally accurate. I would ask if they have copies of the old mot's, thats where you can check properly if its in miles or km's

Ye I think I will Andy. I was wondering if it could be a flat battery resetting the clocks at some point, or don't the gen 1s suffer with that? |

The gen 1's don't suffer that but annoyingly when the battery is flat it reverts to kilometers and so if it's gone for mot and it's been miles one year and kilometres the next the mot history looks dodgy. Lots of Rsv's seem to have this

Yep don't rule it out on the mileage MOT history. On 5th September 2013 it was MOT'd and was noted at 22556 miles. If you assume that is kilometres and convert it back to miles, you get 14015, the exact mileage it is being advertised at. Now its just a case of believing that it has done no miles at all since the MOT in 2013. If all is well and you went for it, I'm sure you could remove all those aftermarket stickers and get it back to a pretty much standard looking 2002 RSV Mille R, which is a bl**dy lovely bike. I had that exact spec/colour RSVR myself for quite a few years and it was absolutely fantastic. Took me to the Nordschleife and back with a few laps round whilst I was there too

Cheers WilKo, I'm going to call them this morning and find out the score.
Confused ad to why they would put KM on an MOT when the dash displays MPH though. Other than the after market stickers it looks fairly clean to me. Granted it's older but so much more character than a fireblade or something similar, and it's a V-TWIN...... POWERRRRRR Needs an exhaust though |

The dash on Gen 1 RSVs are notorious for resetting back to KM. The factory default for them is KM. You can change from KM to Miles using the buttons. However if the battery voltage is down, sometimes when you try to start the bike, the voltage drops very low and this can reset the dashboard back to its factory default. Its a simple enough procedure to change it back to miles, but you need to have the owners manual with you to work out which buttons to press on the dash. Its perfectly feasible to think that when the guy took it for MOT it defaulted back to KM, or when the MOT centre started the bike it defaulted back to KM.
Its simple enough to stop this happening, keep the bike on an optimate to keep the battery in good condition. Fitting an uprated battery will also help massively. AP have the correct ones listed on their website, along with an uprated starter solenoid. These two upgrades are worth their weight in gold on a Gen 1. As for the exhaust, if you can live with the thunder, then that is a genuine Aprilia Titanium race can on there, a more than worthy exhaust for that bike!

Well done buddy, get some pictures up as soon as possible (Using photo bucket!)
Service items use the Aprilia Performance website. You can select your model of RSV and it will list all applicable items including the oil. Great service from AP, most people here use them. Also you could do a whole lot worse than getting a tune up from AP for £60. I recently had this done on my gen 2 Tuono and after it felt amazing, a total transformation and the best 60 sheets I could have spent on it |

Sam I think the tune-up will depend on the bike and what sort of state it is in. In the case of my Tuono, it was running the wrong engine map variant. There are two map variants, 1 for standard exhausts and 1 for aftermarket exhausts. My T had Akrapovic exhausts and was running the wrong map variant. The throttle response was rough, jerky and glitchy. It was a total dog to ride. Griff enabled the correct map variant and then balanced the throttle bodies. Also he adjusted the throttle and tweaked a couple of other things. It was like night and day, I came away feeling like it was a different bike. It was so much smoother and definitely pulled harder too all through the rev range.

Cheers Wilko, I'll get a feel for what its like and go from there. It's got a PC (not sure if its a 3 or 5), Quick shifter and the end cans so it may have already been set up. I don't suppose it would hurt to get it checked though. Does Griff have a dyno ect then?
Will do Colin, maybe you can show me the best way to AP minus the motorway. How lone have you had the Ape? what do you ride?

Check my posts on owning one but there's loads on here on the same lines. Owning one is completely different from Owning a Japanese bike |

It was between this and a blade, I rode the blade and whilst it was a very fast and a usable bike I was bored! IL4 just isn't exciting! I had a Z1000 a few years back, absolutely stunning bike but again the predictive IL4 didnt excite me.
Plus there is no better noise or feeling than a V-Twin.
