Always loved the Tricolore paint job.
Full Arrows system, 1060 Big Bore, PC5 and Evo Airbox. Bring on the big grin!

Just looks the dogs doodahs on that bike doesn't it , I think the only better colour scheme on a 1098/1198 is the 1198 Corse SE, that's just stunning.

I remember back in 2007 when I was at a local bike shop and one of these was parked outside brand new. I fell in love with it immediately! Back then it was a dream although 10 years later it's possible. That's the great thing about bikes you can aspire to something and after a long wait you can make it a reality . Simply beautifal
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

One of my mates had the last of that ltd ed run. Ducati lost it in the factory system somehow due to a cancelled order and he took delivery of it new over a year after all the others were regd.

Cracking bike,I was offered it for £6500 when he needed the money but stupidly declined. The local Duc dealership sold it on commission for £9500 in the end. Very low mileage too.

Factor in about £700 to replace the fork internals with Ktec springs and valving and it will handle properly and actually go where it's pointed.

By common consent it makes the difference between being an uncomfortable, understeering pogo stick and a bike you just plug your brain into, bit aggressive on the power though and can bite the unwary.

I definitely have a 1098/1198 on my "must have at some point" list, the 1198 Corse would be the preferred choice but the 1098 Tricolore would be next I think.
My mate had a standard 1198 for 3 years and loved it, said it was a brutal thing off the bottom end though ....which appeals to me big time .... ....it's just the service costs that put me off slightly, the big "Desmo" service is ridiculously expensive but I suppose that's the price you pay if you fancy a bit of Ducati ownership.

+1, yes, yes and thrice yes! -definitely on my list as well Thumbs Up

Expensive service costs as you say, but I suppose one just has to suck it up, to join the club!

(I'd still keep my Ape of course! Big smile )
Question everything.
