Hi all,
Saw a thread on the aprilia performance Facebook page about some uprated battery leads on ebay and a John Walker was mentioned and that his battery leads where far superior plus cheaper, there was also a mention of rsvr.net, so does anybody know of these such items or know how to contact John Walker? Cheers Fitz |

Put me on the list for a set of the 3 new ones when you have time please? It would be rude not have the full set |

You might do better to email John direct at his " copperkits@yahoo.com " address as he's not on here much these days.
Also I have a feeling he may be working away from home atm |

Hey john, just a question. Do you replace any of the earths inside the loom itself? A lot uprate only one side of the loom but neg never gets looked at, and we know how current really travels.
On mine i have a 10mm2 link wire from the rear cylinder where the main earth is to the front right cylinder by the starter. Just did it because i could. Is there anything else you have come across undersized? |

Hi, you're absolutely correct, the negative is just as important as the positive. In my kits replace both sides, positive and negative, I will assume you have a Gen1, or Gen 2, as they both should have a negative connection to the rear cylinder casing. Gen 1 then connects to the frame, and another cable up to the negative battery terminal. Gen2, just goes to the battery. |

So the busbar sand cables are treated the same in the complete circuit, along with the requested Optimate auxiliary terminals. I've seen people adding an extra cable cable from the positive solenoid terminal to the starter on V4's to help the hot start issue some of them have. That really isn't recommended as it's going to overload the rest of the cables that haven't been upgraded. |

Yes gen2, straight off the rear cylinder where the main earth is off battery. I just added another from that to the front. Not that its needed because it isnt. I just went over the top.
I wonder why they took the frame earth out on the gen2. Just relying on the engine mounting i suppose. Those cables are mint. |

Gen 2 cables are down from 12mm2 - (Gen 1) to 10mm2. And less cables, can you see that Aprilia had a new accountant maybe? So 10mm2 cable can carry around 85 Amps continuous, and around double that during a short circuit overload, which is typical of the first second of starting your bike. See where this is going, and why I designed mine with 16mm2 instead? 16mm will carry 110AMPS continuous and double that in short circuit situation, or during starting. Thanks for the compliment 😊 |

Hi Ian, haven't you got some, they are incredible. They cured my hot start problems because of the the hotter Brisk plugs. They will complement that lithium battery well, worth every penny and more. Here John, how you getting on with the camera? |
