On the other hand, a mate of mine, who's about 18 stone, has them on his XJR 1300, which is no lightweight itself, and had no problems at all!

Have you got a photo to back this up? Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling you a liar or sticking up for anyone but you hear these stories on the internet but never actually get to see the evidence. Just curious to see where the weak point is likely to be.

I'll ask her. Think she's still got the lever.

The Mrs bandit blew over last year and we could see no damage to it, it was only cos I was road testing it down our road for its mot the other week that the brake lever broke off, luckily on a quiet road with no traffic and my experience helped me control it safely, this was a stock oe lever, so you can never tell if there's a weakness should anything happen to a lever just by looking with eyes...

If you remove the threaded part what are you screwing the barend into?

Into the hole that's left in the bar mate, I'm sure that's how I did mine. I had R&G ones that screwed into that threaded nut you have there,,,,, so take that out and put the bar end into the tube itself, assuming it'll fit?

Anyone who has fitted these levers themselves, what's behind the rubber seal/dustcap?
