Evening Aprilia gurus,

Having just had my battery suddenly go dead as a dead thing on me, I’m now getting paranoid about the bike charging properly. Iv'e replaced the old battery with a new YTX14 in there and it starts almost instantly rather the old churn and clock reset that it did sometimes. Putting a multimeter across the battery gives 14.1 at tickover dropping to 13.8 at 4000, does that sounds about right? Or a bit low.

While I’m at it I noticed the clutch slave cylinder is leaking slightly, is it worth putting in new seals or splashing out on one those Oberon slaves

Great forum by the way , been lurking here for a bit. Loads of good info and stuff on here.

14.1 is fine, max would be 14.5.

If you want to really reassure yourself make sure youve replaced the 2 connectors in the charging circuit that always cause problems (Gen1) or if Gen2 I think its a single connector.

I replaced my seals 3 or 4 times, almost yearly, before deciding that something was not right with the slave and going for the Oberon.

Question everything.
