Hi all.

I have an issue when stationary I can't engage neutral and can't change gear. Luckily managed to nurse her home after work. Sometimes the gears were soft, but sometimes almost impossible to change.
A Google search suggests it maybe the clutch slave cylinder. I've taken my bike apart and to the best of my knowledge there doesn't appear to be anything wrong on the surface.
How can I be sure it is the slave cylinder?

Also what are these pipes for? They don't appear to lead to anywhere?!

they are you overflow to your tank and attach to the under tray where on top another pair of pipes pass to your petrol tank

bleed Clutch to see if that helps could be slave or could be the master

Managed to loosen the toe lever just fine, and bike starts up too but when I engage 1st bike lurches forward and cuts out instantly. There was a large amount of black sticky gunk between the gear box and frame.

When you pull the clutch lever, look at the right hand engine casing (clutch cover). Does it move when you pull the lever ?

If it doesn't you likely have air in the system, probably at the M/C. If it does the clutch pushrod bearing has failed.

No it doesn't fortunately. Tried getting the slave master cylinder off but Christ the bolts just won't budge at all!

The M/C is at the bars, the slave at the engine. Any trapped air will go to the highest point. Unless the slave is leaking I would just bleed the system first off.

Other than seal failure the slave rarely has a problem and snapping a bolt will bring a world of trouble,
