Hi all I have just brought a second bike for track days it a rsv factory with all the goodies one problem is the front disc have a lot of play in them side to side and front to back they even rattle when pushing it, can they be re collared or is it a case of getting new thanks.

I had the same issue, I got black shadow to recon my disks with new bobbins, they came back like new

Sorry I can't remember how much, but looking on their web site it wasn't very much and he did them in 48hrs !

I can't recommend him enough, one of the most helpful people I've dealt with, the disks are still like new after 10k

My brake rotors had very little wear, just the bobbins or rather the spring washers were knackered after 25k, was crazy for me to get new discs when it was only a spring washer issue, my rotors are showing very little wear even after 35k

No Mark ,go and read the whole thing.That's when you get new centers as well.
That caught my eye too and i thought what you've said,but it's not it's 48 hr turn around and £20+ £2.50 postage for 8  bobbins replaced with an option to buy extra bobbins or a D.I.Y Kit.
You could actually buy some new Harris disc centers,the DIY kit and use your own rotors and have your self a set of light weight discs at a fraction of the price of new Sunstar ones (standard RSV/Tuono/RSVR equipment)So that number is in my book now.
I used to be uncertain , but now i'm not sure anymore
