Trim pot.. if you look at your ECU, to the right of the electrical connector are two blue spots about 4mm accross. If you look closely you will find they have a slot in each. These are to fine tune the fuel mixture, depending on what chip this could be accross the whole rev range, just low down revs or be disabled so they do nothing. Unless you really know what you are doing, leave well alone.

They are active on my chips
So as a rule of thumb I advise setting to 12 o'clock
As they are generally all over the place with the existing chip!

I have a simple process that gives you a nice clean idle
Then you can start to mess with co if you so desire and have the right equipment :-)

Lol. At last! Why didn't you just come clean in the first place. Told you, Griff is well easy to talk to but doesn't do half-arsed. Glad you've come out of the closet so to speak.

Well got my chip today....

Damn  thing dont seem quite right to me

Seriously though, No issues fittng, starting or idling. Have had to reset my rev limiter back to 10500 as it definately seems to rev easy and mid throttle roll ons are a dream.

More real world testing to come and a dyno session but I would have no hesitation in recomending Ed's handiwork (although he could send higher value chips)

I have never seen actual power figures for 51mm - 54mm or 51mm - 57mm throttle bodies but on the assumption that more air + more fuel = more power I would say somer sort of hp/torque gain.

I have created a falco chip that works well on the following mods
Open airbox or k & n and open / race cans :-))

I will in the next few weeks have a falco chip for machines running a full system and open airbox
This also depends on how much spare time I can find to complete

I also have RSV EPROMs to suit every mod
Except engine work
So just PM me your requirements

Thanks Ed

Yes you would benefit
The deal is this ......all aprilia chips from rp 58 to titaniu
And sp also haga and Edwards run stock ignition tables :-((

And the fuel tables are not that great either

Even running just a can and filter
The chip will make a noticeable difference

Absolutely right.  Larger TBs =  more air = more fuel being metered = more bang = more power....sort of.  It depends on other things like the airbox volume, injectors, ignition timning, exhaust (etc etc).

I never had my Gen 1 RSV dyno'd but reckon is was average (compared with all other RSV's I've ridden = a few!) so may have been around 110 to 115 BHP at the rear wheel.

My Eddy rep (57TBs) when I bought it was running the standard chip with the Akras and "only" making 120 rear wheel BHP.

Now with the Dr Rossi Chip, a Griff Tune, K&N, injector clean and properly adjusted TBs its making 131 rear wheel BHP so pretty close to the claimed 147BHP (crank) and feels bloody quick.  Ok, the Eddy has other things like 4-spray injectors and strengthened con rods so is designed for more power and  feels every bit as quick as the Gen 2;  However, having also ridden a well sorted gen 1 RSV with standard TBs fitted, there's not night and day in it.  Can't stress the importance of getting your bike sorted with regards to suspension, chain tension, TB balance etc before considering engine mods as this alone will make a big difference to harnessing the grunt smoothly.

If you want more power, dont buy bigger Tb's buy a different bike.  RSVs aren't about raw power IMHO, they're about the blend of character, handling and grunt where you need it most  on the road.  For track I'd guess most are short of breath on the back straights compared with even a Jap 600 these days.

Yes it's all about the torque
So many people seem to want high max power printouts

It's not about that
I guess that's why I like the RSV so much as a road bike :-)

How much are these chips then ? Running a blue flame can and have a kn on order , has a blue wire cut in my ecu wiring (previous owner) haven't checked to see if it has a chip but feels alittle hesitant some times and could do with more then 89miles to fuel light !

89 miles is utter rubbish, I can do that on a track day but even with my commuting I can 125 to the tank before the light comes on.

Sounds like its running mega rich, what colour are the exhaust outlets ?....black and sooty maybe ?

Oh and one of Ed's chips will surely make matters a whole lot better but I think you need to seriously look at the TB settings as well.
