Just wondering if anybody else was going across to this, I'm looking for some advise for places to stay ferry crossings etc. I'll be crossing from Stranraer, anybody got any ideas as to who is the cheapest or has the best deals on the go. Thanks Robbo

I haven't been for a couple of years, but it's a great visit. I stayed at the official campsite halfway down the course and well within walking distance of the circuit - just as well with the bar on site. Paddock is accessible and friendly, just make sure you bring your wet weather gear! Mother Nature rides a biker

guys if travelling the A75 to Stranraer just go careful coz the police will be all over the place, take the A712 to alleviate the boredom, but watch out coz it will catch you out in bits if you are not alert.

badger, thanks for that, my plan is to take the A70 across so as to miss the Glasgow rush hour. So it'll be A70 then the boring A77 with all of the SPECS [:(!] from there on down, if you know a better route from West Lothian post it up buddy, I'm open to suggestions. Robbo

If you have the time the route i would take is A702 to Penicuick then A703 towards Peebles turn of at Eddleston onto the A701 right to Moffat then head for Dumfries still on A710 then head for Stranraer on the A75 till you come to Crocketford and take the A712 right to Newton Stewart (where i live) then you have only 25 miles on the boring A75 to Stranraer, lots more fun and will probably take about same time as you can whack on on nearly all of it without police presence, jsut watch the A75 and when you get over to Ireland, it is bad over there now on the race week. Have fun dude[:D]
