Thought I'd share a cool method for fixing the spinning Riv Nut issue on some bikes. I had this issue from new with the tank mount bolt. I believe there is a few Riv nuts used and to fix them it's relatively simple
Step 1. Know which thread you are dealing with. In this instance it's an M6. Step 2. Get a nut of the same size as the bolt Step 3. Thread the nut onto the bolt as far as it will go Step 4. Thread the bolt and nut through the Riv Nut as far as it will go Step 5. Whilst holding the bolt wind the nut down all the way to the flange and then tighten it down. Don't go overboard just half a turn or so. That should crush the rivnut back up. You can also buy a Rivnut tool and new inserts. I opted for the cheap method 👌
