It's Bennetts for me,it did go up a bit this year but I couldn't be bothered to look elsewhere.

Only got one of my bikes covered although I suppose I should have at least basic cover on the track bike.

Strange, I'm with Bikesure on a multibike policy and they've been great. All mods declared and £253 for a very modded gen1 and a 1098S Ducati Streetfighter. Including helmet and leathers cover and something else I forget. Though I am going to go to an agreed value policy when I move to a new address.
Question everything.

I've got the Mille (with declared exhaust mod and ecu chip) and a 1996 Fireblade on an agreed valuation classic policy wth Footman James. That's about £250 a year.

I've got a 02 rsvr Tuono, 09 ZX10R, and a 18 FJR and that was
414 quid, just added a 20 Tuono Factory and its gone up to
849. They definitely don't like the factory.
Thanks for the replies.

I change my insurers every year because the renewal price is over priced. I flit between Bennet's, carol Nash and devitts.

Ended up at 660 still too much but the best I could get, a couple were over a grand, Devitts said they'd phone me back with a price, not heard from them since.

Hey Stu, I suppose your age, license and location may have a bearing? We don't know those parameters. Have thefts gone up in your local postcode?

I know with Bikesure that they didn't increase any premiums for a whole batch of mods. Including many thet were expensive and increase perfomance.
In the possibilty of a claim I'm maybe not covered for the actual value of my bike.... and that's actually the important thing and one I will rectify after moving from the narrowboat to the house I've just bought

Question everything.

Not sure why it jumped so much other than a brand new factory being added, I've been with them since 2004 with 17 years no claims, an CD20 and I'm 59 years old and live in the New Forest, not a crime hotspot by any means.

This reads like a dating agency ad 😂

Unfortunately, we're all at the mercy of the insurance companies algorithms, which I would presume get updated regularly to protect insurance companies interests. I'm only speculating here, but one would assume that as everywhere is reporting reductions in crime as a result of Covid, that somehow your area has become more risky as far as they are concerned? Or the other areas less risky in comparison. It only takes a few sticky fingered oiks and all they get is a slap on the wrist...

I used to change my insurers every few years for the best deals, but I haven't needed, or felt the need with Bikesure so far. I think I've been with them 4 years or so now and they have been good so far.

Question everything.

Thinking on... maybe it is just the fact that it is a brand new bike you've added, therefore for the insurers, the highest kind of payout in terms of value?
Question everything.

Rick has hit the nail on the head.

My Gen2 was £99 full comp with all mods on it added with bikesure alone.
My new Tuono hiked it right up. When I had both on one policy I was getting silly quotes for both. It was cheaper to insure them separate and have zero no claims on the Gen2.

Yeah I sort of knew the new Tuono would hike it up just want expecting such a big jump, the fjr was brand new when added and didn't affect it so much.

A couple of interesting things I came across re insurance:

The BIG car insurance secret -  compare quotes 23 days before renewal to potentially HALVE costs. We've told you this for years, so it might not sound like a secret, but we still class it that way as millions DON'T do it. But getting quotes at the last minute before renewal means you're actually deemed a higher risk - insurers say such drivers are statistically more likely to claim, so they often pay £100s more. To be clear, this is not about getting a renewal quote from an existing insurer, it's about getting cheaper quotes elsewhere.

I guess it applies to bikes as well?

The second thing is the latest 44Teeth Insurance video:

I caught that vid yesterday,a bit of an eye opener Shocked

I knew they were a business and ruthless but that opened my eyes wider, things much better the way the Europeans do it with the vehicle insured the same whoever drives it.

No wonder they didn't want that business model harmonizing over here as it would have killed the golden goose.

Another reason we're known as Treasure Island ( or were before becoming just ' those f8kcing Brits'

Interesting bit about notifying when bike has been sold as I have myself let the policy run to get my no claims.
