Not long had my RSV R gen 2 and love her to bits but by jeezus she makes me pay!
Did 170miles on her yesterday beautiful day, met up for a friend for coffee and rode home.
Only after about 20 miles on the return journey I began to get really sore!
Sore neck sore shoulders not to mention sore wrists!

To cut a long story short is there anything I can do to make her a bit more comfortable to ride?
Especially long distances, have a friend wanting to do lands end to John o groats in a day and would love to do it with him, only I don’t stand a chance after the way I felt after only 100 odd milesCryCryCry
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast!

easy really. It depends on the type of riding. 1st is to get fit, it makes long distance riding easier.
If you are going long distance adjust the bike to slightly softer suspension. Is your riding gear helping here ? Clothing makes a big difference to long distance, wearing full leathers for a touring ride ffs, wear suitable gear . Make you seat more comfortable. Adjust the rear sets ? Cruise control helps as well, there is a simple one that fits to the twist grip. A higher windscreen can lower buffeting from wind. Music on long lonely rides can help. Electronic devices to find petrol, rest stops and avoid really bad traffic also helps.
Then you can buy risers for the clip ons. Other thing is what route were you riding ? A change of route from boring motorway to better to ride a and b routes avoiding big towns.

On a more constructive note. I do find that I struggle early in the riding season but the more you ride the better your core strength & easier it gets. Just accept that sportsbikes are not made for comfort.

I found that on my Gen1 2003 replacing the rear shock with a Maxton unit cut down the discomfort in my thighs and arse.
The big BIG improvement came from the Maxton rebuild and rework of the forks, the harshness and excessive compression damping of the original set up made forearms ache and my hands feel like I had been to the headmasters office for the cane. Now it is completely transformed apart from the crown jewels getting squashed against the tank.

I am 5'6" 11 1/2 stone

Thanks guys, yeah seriously considering selling it to buy a tuono but will persevere with her for another month or so.
Looked into bar riser clip ons and can’t find any for a RSV also looked in to adjustable rear sets but from what I read and correct me if I’m wrong but they only adjust up and back further putting yet more weight on ones wrists. The seat I find comfortable enough although I’m planning on softening up the suspension slightly. I have a replaced the stock screen with a double bubble unit but not sure the wind is the issue more the scrunched up legs and weight on my wrists....I’m 5’10” and 11.5 stone
