well hello
I dont get on here much at all the admin duties on fb take up my available time! So a quick update, I have managed to source the genuine bits to return the racing to standard. Griff has been busy beavering away at it over the last 8 months sorting my mistakes and other bits. I have just put my original tank in for spraying so hopefully be ready back end of next week. So if any of you folk make it to the AP open day 31st and 1st of September hopefully it will be nearly there. It would be good to see you guys there I am going on the Saturday and sunday staying over in 1 of the hotels. Anyway take care and hopefully see some of in a couple of weeks. |

well I had a bit of a run of rotten luck with the bike.
So took the plunge and sent it to Aprilia Performance. It's.need lots doing but I know it's in the best of hands. I don't use the forum very much but hope to change that as I do use the tech parts and tips and lurk in the back ground. Anyway hopefully get the bike back all singing all dancing in time for the TT.

Hello everyone.
I have been busy working away on the bike for a while those of you who know me on Fb will know its been a hassle mostly my doing. The back end last year the sprag went so that was changed. then did lots of other bits the engine came out as a washer dropped in. So i did the valve stem oil seals new piston rings lapped the valves and gaskets etc. I also got a new ohlins shock. I have a redrat modded collector on now with the rsv titanium evo. I have seriously learned a lot this time and still not done yet getting ever closer though. Griff and AP have helped a lot parts advice and so on. I just want to get out on it what a waste as the weather has been amazing.

Thanks.
Yeah needed a little run to check oil. Just waiting on the other carbon bits. So will be yellow number boards. So close. I still would like a ohlins shock and original tank. But that needs to wait. |

Hey everyone.
Well found the oil culprit looks like valve cover seals leaking. I sold the carbon seat cowl and got an original racing one with decals expensive. Wheels powder coated white. Rads are off I had to take the exhaust off to get dog bone off. Engines a state I am cleaning as I go. If I had the ability the engine would be out and clean it. My trouble is time I can't get enough of a run at it. So hopefully 4 weeks and I will be taking it for the Manx test. Any further progress I will post some pics |

Bit of an update
I sold the seat cowl and all the short belly pans and the plain seat cowl. I bought the original racing seat cowl just waiting for it to arrive. Wheels are off for powder coat. Managed to level the exhausts so I can put the hangers on. Bought a better oil cooler and some new rad guards. It's going slowly was hoping to be further along but never mind. |

Yeah it makes a difference when the cowl is in great condition. I did pay for that privalege. I know of a genuine racing cowl with decals but it's 190 euro. My bike is a genuine racing but it's never going to be a collectors condition. So just a nod towards its heritage. I am looking for a genuine seat unit in carbon as the 1 I have is not great.
