Worst case scenario, buy a good length of chain, and sell it on, as an anchor.

Seriously, you'll get your money back if you break it mate.

Looks like it has already been used as an anchor.

Keep plugging away NB. It's only studs and swing arm. It always feels disheartening when something goes awry. But it's not a race to get it done. Take your time, get some homebrew/beer fridge in the shed and enjoy it.

Anyway, it's a bit like sex. You're s'posed to laugh it off when you make mistakes -not get rid of your wife/girlfriend/sheep. LOL
Question everything.

Thanks guys, yeah I've gotta source a replacement swingarm and then sort the exhaust threads, that'll then sort the two biggest issues, after that will come getting all the seized bolts out, once that's been done, I've gotta source another early Gen1 tank, either the metal or plastic version as long as it's black, I already have a great set of axial Ohlins forks thanks to the man Griff himself..!!

I already have the Arrow 2-2 system thanks to Andirsv and some other bits already here so swingarm and exhaust threads first lol...

Hey Nicky, if you think the stud is to hard ,remove the head. Piece of cake pal. Don't start smashing into it if you aren't totally confident in certain removal. Take it to the nearest engineering shop and get it removed without damage to anywhere else. Setting the cams up will be easier than cocking the recess up.
Part of rebuilding is learning when to say no too. It's not defeat , it's financial and management of time sense.
I used to be uncertain , but now i'm not sure anymore

Well thankfully it's only the front cylinder I've gotta worry about, so I've gotta get the threads put back in the head lol

While we are on the subject of materials, nuts & bolts.
Titanium doesn't stretch very well when subjected to vibration.
So much so that James from JHS has snapped crankshafts as a result of using titanium bolts to hold the crank cases together. He has snapped 5 cranks as a result before finding the problem.
admittedly they were on his racing bikes at the IOM but it's worth thinking about as they will get damned hot there and subject to some vibration.
Just a thought Nicky that's all.

Ooo that's something to bear in mind then lol, cheers for the heads up mate, I'am running titanium nuts on my headers on the road bike at the moment and I've run them all last season and next year so I'll report back on how they hold up on normal road riding..!.!.!
