So the maintenance has got me thinking. While I'm waiting for my wheels to return from refurb I'm thinking of new disc mounting bolts all round. So here's the questions. I've been told not to use stainless bolts, is this true. If I do use stainless then will the speed sensor still work ok? What other options are there over stock ie titanium etc. Would like personal recommendation if possible and obviously want to avoid any speed sensor issues and would ideally like to buy enough of the same to do the front and rear discs at the same time. Cheers in advance for any info.

No options really as far as I know. Needs to be magnetic for the speedo pick up. So new oem or attack the existing ones with autosol to put a shine on them.

Stick with standard for the disc bolts to be on the safe side m8. Titanium ones will not trigger the speed sensor, neither will stainless ones.

I've seen some nice M8 zinc plated 8.8 steel ones but only in bags of 100 lol.

Thought about something like that but not for profit. Don't know if would be much interest. Would sell them as sets of 17 for about £20.

Are the original bolts knackered / rounded ?
Why not just run them through a rotary wire buff / brush and give them a spray in whatever colour flips your switches ? If knackered , replace socket set then bolts |

Reason for change is some are a bit rounded and they are all a bit rough and scabby looking. Other reason is wheels are away having a full strip and refurb so going to look like new plus fitting new disks, bearings, tyre's etc so thought I would add new disc bolts to finish it off. Then next month would be new pinch bolts, caliper mounting bolts and axle nuts etc. Bike has had some bad fastener abuse and neglect by previous owner so working my way through rectifying this and that.
