Can someone tell me if you can fit this master cyclinder and retain the OEM brake lines on a gen 1 RSV mille R radial brakes.

Yes it does but I think you have to either fit a pressure type brake light switch or mod the mechanical one that you can get with the M/C. I think the plugs are different or something like that

Spoonz is right, the switch supplied looks the same but is a mirror image of the OEM one. I soldered the RCS switch into the OEM sub loom. Pressure banjo won’t work I don’t think, you’d really struggle with clearance

I tried it, the oe pipes won't be long enough or correctly aligned. Somewhere was selling a metal block that moved the mastercylinder connection to the right alignment and fitted the oe pipework. I think jjc did the parts but no lone r list. I found a picture. My screw loose tablet won't do links anymore. If you google 'brake line adaptor brembo cylinder' it will come up with a ebay part from HEL.

The oe lines do reach, you just have to remove one of the clamps that it routes the line through so that you can change it's path slightly.

I wasn't prepared to kill myself. It just needs to catch on something. There is a £15 part that puts the RCS brake connection in the same place as OE . Life is cheap lol.....

the other problem is the mounting of the RCS reservoirs. The reservoirs hit the fuses/relays. I mounted the clutch reservoir on the right and the brake reservoir on the left to avoid hitting, they tucked in well. |

It might depend how much fork is through the yokes but there is no danger in removing the locating bracket. It just allows you to get an extra bit of movement in the cable. The overall route itself doesn't change.
I'm not a fan of adding extra adaptors to the brake lines myself but that just a personal thing really. |

the above picture doesn't show RCS M/Cs (the braided hose connections are in the wrong place) I'm assuming this is just showing an alternate position for the reservoirs, which is a neat solution but in my experience is not strictly necessary as the res's aren't much of a problem, the fabrication a simple bracket gets the res in an acceptable position. The main issue fitting the RCS is the lever fouling the edge of the dash/fusebox, on mine I moved the dash back to give the clearance shown in the pic, if you don't want to modify the dash Mark (redratbike) sells some re-engineered lock stops that give the clearance by restricting the steering lock, as for the hoses the banjos are in a completely different postion to OE ( they bolt underneath the cyl) so I don't think the OE will hoses won't fit (I never tried because I some longer ones anyway).

Never felt the need to take any pics of the process at the time and bikes long gone. My current RSV still has the oem axial M/C's
It was pretty straightforward and was done in about 45 mins per side apart from the switch. The only mod i did to the original brake setup was to remove a cable clamp as i mentioned that gave me a bit more cable movement. I was mainly changing to fix a persistent air in clutch M/C issue even after 2 new "updated" oem M/C from Aprilia. I did the brake too so i had a matching pair. Have you had a look on Af1 for anyone's setup pics ?

It was a Gen2 by the way so already a radial M/c setup. Not sure if it will be same on a gen1 if it had an axial setup.
