Hi all.
I'm looking for somebody to do a small job for me if possible that requires somebody who has access to and can operate a lathe. I've got 2 nuts for adjusting the play in the steering bearings on a project bike but they are too tall. I'm after having them machined down to 3mm thick each if somebody can do this for me. I am capable of doing it myself but don't have access to a metalwork lathe and the local small machine shop I used to get to do stuff like this has gone and the bigger shops that do mass production parts are just not interested. I've tried sourcing the nuts I want but can't find them. The 2 nuts in question are the 2 nuts that lock against each other (with c spanners) once you set the steering head bearings to correct tension before fitting the upper yoke. If anyone could help me it would be very much appreciated. My only other option would be to find 2 M22x1.0 nuts that are already 3mm thick each. Can anybody help please. |
