98 - 03 RSV Mille Bearing & Seal Guide

OK, I needed to replace my front wheel bearings due to a slight rumbling noise and almost passed out when I saw the genuine Aprilia parts costs. EEK!

So in true AMB67 tradition I decided to look for a cheaper alternate part, this was when I came up with the idea of compiling a list of bearings for our beloved bikes that didn't cost the earth.

So here it is:

**PLEASE NOTE** I have Brembo non radial wheels fitted

Front Wheels Bearings = 6005-2RS1/C3 SKF You'll need 2 and they are around £4 each.

Front Wheel Seals = 30x47x7 R21 You'll need 2 and they are around £1.50 each

Rear Wheels Bearings = 6205-2RSR-C3 FAG you'll need 2 and they are around £5.00 each.

Rear dust seal from the rear wheel bearings = 30x52x7mm Nitrile Rubber Rotary Shaft Oil Seal with Garter Spring R21 / SC (Check this seal size before ordering as it has been known to be different sizes on similar machines)

Rear wheel seals are not required.

Sprocket Carrier Bearings = 6006-2RSR-C3 FAG you'll need 2 and they are around £6 each.

Sprocket Carrier Seals = 38x52x7 R23 you'll need 2 and they are around £1.50 each. (Check the size before ordering replacement seals)

Steering Head Bearings = SF07A22PXI NTN you'll need 2 of these and they are around £16.00 each.

All these bearings and seals are readily available from Bearing King or Simply Bearings. Both companies are excellent and I have used them in the past for many of my projects and for customers vehicles.

Hope this helps some of you save money!

Try these Marksman bearings, I've fitted a set in mine and they're great.

Hey Alan you back with us?

Trying to mate, not enough hours in the day at the moment.

I've not wheeled the bike out of the garage for almost a year, I'm determined not to sell it as once I have everything at work sorted I'll be back in the saddle.

Good to see all the old faces still around and plenty of new ones too.

Yep still around and still in to my bikes.....

Shocking news about Smiffy Badboy going over to the darkside.... although I do have a small confession...

I have bought some company for the Mille on those long winter nights...  the engine is in bits at the moment but I'm hoping to have it back on the road by July.
